Went to Blackpool 30 years ago took my wife and kids for a day trip arrived parked the car started to walk down the front police cars everywhere flying up and down the front gang of kids fighting and running everywhere .turned round headed back to the car there about 15 minutes never been back since .went to Southport for the day had nice day .
Spell it with a ‘t’ and the UTS church police would be after me…think everyone gets the drift though!
The Poundland is a complete sell out for the Vile game tonight, nice top up for the coffers
Anyone stopping in the Morecombe on Friday? Got booked in the travelodge. Place looks grim.
One of my wife’s work colleagues booked a week’s holiday in Morecambe last year. They’d never been before so had no expectations - stayed the one night at their booked hotel then checked out first thing the next morning and went to find a better resort to stay at as it was so bad.
Not Morecombe, but just down the road in Blackpool
My nephew and his partner asked me to look for a nice cheap B&B for the night on TA, so i found one for about £60 and booked it for them.
A couple of hours later, they rang me and called me all the names under the sun?
On arrival, they were greeted by one of the owners dressed in leather shorts, and on showing them to their room, told them in no uncertain terms, that they were quite welcome to join him and his wife for a bit of fun after they had settled in
As soon as he had departed they did a runner without stopping to ask for a refund, and i felt so guilty i booked them into the Carousel and paid for it myself
They still to this day keep reminding me of the time i booked them in to the swingers house
So you never did find out whether it was worth a visit?
Life is all swings and roundabouts for you.
Which b and b? Asking for a mate
I think it was the Touchwood?
It would be.
Does anyone think we are gonna struggle in this league? Im hoping for a win but i cant see it… as we are getting closer the less confident i feel
When I was a nipper I new exactly what presents a wanted for Xmas a couple of months before . The closer it got the less confident I got about wether I’d get them all .as it turned out I got some of them but not everything. Was still chuffed though .had to wait another year for the rest or birthday .
Thats going to rattle a few cages ha ha. I can’t see us doing terrible but I can’t see us doing exceptionally well either. 12th 13th I think which despite an improvement is still pretty shite isn’t it as this is the bottom level of the efl. It dosnt get any Lower!!!
Bet your mom and dad didn’t know what to buy you for Xmas
We are one day away from kick off and you don’t feel optimistic or exited that the start of the season is upon us I’ve got tingles in my spine and a feeling this season might shut you up (please) come on gensanx123 show some bollocks be a big man and write something positive
Ive done sumat ive never done… but 100 on us getting promoted. Ha.
Gota love the start of the season optimism.
Well, here we go again. Do we suffer another season of misery or, hopefully, a season of good football and improvement.
I don’t want us to rely on just DJ’s goals, others need to contribute as well, Hutch, Knowles, Draper and Matt all need to chip in with a few…
Matt has really got to show us something, he had a poor pre-season and will quickly become the “boo boy” if doesn’t start scoring goals.
Very thankful we have DJ back, can’t say the same about DJT. Draper is promising but unproven at this point, I’m excited to see him play. Oteh can play on the right while Knowles is out, he can also score some goals for us.
Midfield has been a concern for years, we’ve not had a box-to-box midfielder for ages. I thought Earing would assume that role as he has energy and likes to move the ball forwards, but MF preferred him in a more defensive position. It will be interesting where Sadler plays him when he returns from injury.
I’ve not seen many of the new guys play so I’ll reserve judgment on them until I do.
We have always had good teams with a strong midfield, something we’ve been lacking since the Deano days, if we can get back to that we have a chance to improve.
That’s really all I’m looking for this season…an steady improvement. We’re not going to win the league, I would love that but it’s not realistic. I hope to see more creativity, more movement and more positive football, non of this hoof ball we’ve been seeing or getting the ball at the halfway line and passing it back, we’re all sick and tired of that
I’m not going to make any predictions as anything could happen to any club, but 10th or better would be an improvement, it would also show the fans and Trivela of our commitment to play better football and achieve promotion.
Not sure whether to post this here, or start another thread - but it’ll do for here right now.
If any of you were at the Solihull game, you may have seen a slightly overweight, and increasingly balding chap in a wheelchair then “hello”
The reason I’m posting though - is if anyone fancies a free ticket and lift to the game on Saturday, I can offer that opportunity.
Reason is, I always get a “carers ticket” and frequently travel alone, and so, in the spirit of things being a bit tight for everyone at the moment, I’ve got that going spare this Saturday (don’t worry there is no obligation to do any “caring” - although I may ask to queue for a beer) as opposed to letting it go to waste. And I’ve checked, and for once, the disabled area IS near the other away fans - it frequently isn’t
Only caveat is, that I’ll be travelling from Stafford at about 11am so if interested, if you can make to there at that time, I can pick up from the station or near the M6.
Cheers, and hopefully see some of you in the cold, damp North-West
