L 3-0 vs Newport County (H) - League Two - Sat 10th Feb, 3pm

The problems for the first goal came from PF trying to head clear when he could’ve let it go back to Evans or even head back to Evans….communication must’ve been lacking…reminded me of the Wrexham goal away….

Comley then put Daniels under pressure by playing back to him and DD then wanted two touches to clear when it needed one….

Gordon did then duck….

It was a poor decision to try and duck down and head it……

Hutchinson is the front screen. Same on corners. He’s not marking anyone. The player made a run from behind him and then peeled out. It was a training ground move that caught us out.

Evans was very poor for the header though.

The most worrying thing for me is the goals, or lack of. There have been performances similar to this, although not quite as bad, where we’ve had Draper bail us out. Now, other than Hutch, I really struggle to see where the goals are going to come from. We all know Josh Gordon will run around a lot, but you’d never describe him as a goal threat in this set up. Faal wasn’t great today and missed an absolute sitter. I actually think his hold up play is decent but again, zero goal threat.

One of the most frustrating things for me is that that we didn’t have a single yellow card in anger. Take the sending off out of, nobody looked genuinely pissed off. It seemed like they were happy to accept the result. That for me stems from the manager. It’s all well and good having “good characters” and “the right people”, but sometimes you need one or two who won’t accept those standard. Sadler is the anti Flynn, who won’t come out with any home truths. I’m not saying he should do it every week, but once in a while, when performances crop up like today, the players need to know that they will be accountable too. I really fear that they’ve gone too soft

FM, Knowles had a good game!? He’s useless. What about his miss? 12 yards out and couldn’t even hit the target.
Knowles is the type of player that will never get you promoted. I can’t believe anyone rates him at all. He’s done nowt since he’s been here and never will.

I’d also love to know when we played worse than that and won :joy::joy:

In training, Peel watches it all.

Knowles is When you order Grealish on Wish but not available, then you try Shein and still not available so you try Temu :rofl:

I’d say Alfreton and Tranmere rivalled that……simply as a performance…

Indeed. Gordon has had about ten chances now so will get his goal soon. He’s a one on a dozen chances merchant. Which isn’t good enough despite the shift he guarantees.

Sadler never blames himself for anything

Not a centre forward for me, never has been, played his better football for us previously out wide in a 3.

Agree with this. Similar to Oteh which is why I didn’t like that sub at HT as it was very ‘like for like’ when I felt we needed something different elsewhere.

I really think Oteh has a lot to offer us so im glad he got on the pitch for some time but id agree today.

Not good enough for the mighty Barrow, I think that tells it’s own story.

He scored 21 goals for Barrow. Hes on loan from Burton.

Just watched the so called highlights or lowlights as they were today.
From Daniels defending for the second , Evans goalkeeping for the third and Faals miss it was nothing short of pub football. As for the sending off…

It was literally like watching a Sunday morning team where the players had all been out on the lash until 5am.

He looks a victim of the Walsall way of not knowing what we are trying to play to me. If we tried 433 again i think he would fit in more.

I wish sadler had channelled his inner Merse and said we played like the dog and duck!

Barrow have got a proper manager who knows how to get the best out of what he has.

When he played against us he was dangerous with the ball coming into the box to him.

We play him purely as a runner.
