L 3-1 vs Forest Green Rovers (H) - League Two - Sat 14th Aug, 3pm

If we don’t get anyone in @Thanatos we’re in a relegation scrap. Fact. Criminal we haven’t. Keep repeating myself.

I assumed it was 4231 when I saw the line up / but didn’t look like much of anything to be honest.

I wonder if a 433 would suit us more, and allow us to win the midfield battle? I dunno, just thinking of ideas.

Rushworth

Menayese Taylor Monthe Ward

Perry Labadie Kinsella/Earing

Shade Phillips Wilkinson

Still definitely need a number 9.

Completely outclassed by FGR and their 200 away following. Can’t hide my disappointment tonight.
That was shambolic.
2 year contracts Fullerton? Really?
Looks like Leigh has been shafted again.

Sadly most of us have bought into it aswell and got our season tickets.
I have 3. My 14 year old son summed it up by saying’ this just isn’t any fun dad’. Couldn’t argue.

Our club will never die.

We might get relegated, we might go bust - but you cannot kill 140 years of history

2 leagues games in, nobody is in a relegation scrap.

Yes we were poor today but dont over react!

Crazy. They let Fullerton run riot. A 2 Yr contract to basically a conference winger in keirnan

4231 all day long for me yes. Wilkinson can play across that front line.

Phillips still has something about him for me but fffffffffff me give him some help.

If you dont have strong midfielders, you must pack it out. In my opinion. As Taylor recognised today, we won sweet FA in the midfield.

@adam tbf mate once I’d relaxed a little I defended the team for bits of play etc and said it wasn’t as bad as was being made out but if we don’t have two more (at least) creative outlets by august 31st and lose to Scunthorpe. It’s a relegation scrap. Fact.

I’ve pointed the wholes in the squad out for a month. Nothing has changed.

Not sure what to make of Matt Taylor. Speaks well. Educated.

Zero experience. It shows…

Isnt this why he appointed Mcdonald

Won nothing in midfield. Your right but we had a full bench of err midfielders.

Well from me to you and your family I feel sorry for you mate we may not always agree and we may not always see eye to eye but we are all supporting the same team and I truly hope your little man wants to go again and fingers crossed the club makes the match day experience one he will enjoy more in future.

I never knew we didn’t see eye to eye :joy::handshake:

But thanks mate, He said he wants to go again, but I’m already fearful he will just get bored from the football, the queuing, the lack of entertainment etc etc.

Really sad.

I have been out for a ‘do’ since the match and have recovered a little from that debacle. One or two things I would like to add to the debate. Football is a team game and I don’t like this modern way of blaming individuals. We win or lose as a team and as a team today we were very poor after the first goal. We were clearly out thought and out fought in midfield where Labadie who didn’t look fit to me fought a lonely battle. Osedebe should never be part of a midfield two.The lad on the right never got into the game and clearly does not understand the position he is playing.More coaching is required there but he has some good attributes
The Coach has a lot to learn about this division and I was surprised he left Meyanese out as he performed well on Tuesday . I won’t be there Tuesday as I have something on which I cannot miss but I hope we tighten up in Midfield . Finally just say it was nice goal from Kiernan at the end.Let us hope that restores some confidence.

I didn’t mean you and me personally it was aimed more at all of us on here .It is really sad and all you can do I guess is keep asking him to go and hope he wants to.I for one hope he does he’s our future it really is that simple.

Not trying to defend the shambles today or even in the past, it isn’t good enough.

I did find I tried to take my oldest a bit too early though at 4. I ended up giving him a break for a year or so and he was much more accepting on his return. Don’t be too despondent if at some point he starts to get bored. It isn’t the end.

From my own personal experience, I can’t remember much about the football when I started going, I just wanted to be with and be like my Dad, don’t underestimate that, it will compensate for a lot that the club get wrong.

Thought he set us up well in the first two games. Fine margins but Phillips coming on wide left cost us the goal at Tranmere and the decision not to have Ward in the first five takers cost us in the week.

Today it was a wide margin. Osadebe as the Cain\Mantom\Evans in the side. Deary me. As soon as they figured our press they just found acres of space in front of our back four as Osadebe floundered too high. Should’ve changed it up after the first goal because they were ripping us apart at will.

The reluctance to use players who have been at the club before his arrival meant that even when he did make the change at half-time, it wasn’t Perry who got the nod rather it was the unimpressive Earing with Osadebe being shoved onto the wing.

On Tuesday we need a bit of Walsall in the team. I’d pick Leak over Monthe, Perry over Osadebe and Kinsella over Labadie. Presuming the Holden rumours are true, I’d also consider Bates in the ten with Wilkinson up top as Philips was lightweight and looked tired today.

Such a depressing thread to read. I was lucky today, I couldn’t go. So sad to read that literally nothing has changed.

I’ve urged patience on the transfer thread, but unless there is a step change in performance, new arrivals & matchday experience in the next month, it’s looking very bleak indeed.

The club has been in terminal decline for decades, but I thought we’d hit rock bottom, really hope that remains the case.

I think if the club could get two experienced and exciting forwards in, there would be a lot better performances, but ultimately get the fans onside and positive again.

However, it’s not just as simple as getting in two decent forwards, the midfield is already very very flimsy. That needs rectifying as well.

Gotta be honest. I think if u can’t create a decent midfield from the players we have is seriously question the manager
