Problem is we have a million Center midfielders and with osadebe now Midfield and earring a Center mid not a 10 or winger we are way to heavy there
Gotta ship some players out eg Bates , perry out on loan if Taylor doesnt rate them ( I’d start perry all day ) to finance another number 10 as without Holden we haven’t got one and his not gonna play before Christmas 2027.
This is some terrible terrible squad building shocking even more so as we hired a guy mainly for that purpose!
I certainly don’t want to be calling for the managers head already but this does seem a monumental task for someone so inexperienced
Long queues everywhere, shambles all round off the pitch, crap peformance on it - after 18 months without fans, normal service has been resumed at Fortress Bescot.
I’d play Labadie and Perry in a 4231, and Labadie Perry and Kinsella in a 433/451.
Whilst not the most creative, it would certainly be a lot more solid - and wouldn’t let us be ripped apart like we were today.
I think I posted elsewhere, but after watching that today, I think we need a box to box midfielder type too. I didn’t think we needed one, but if he’s not going to trust Perry or Bates then…. I dunno.
He seriously cannot play Osadebe there again. Please don’t do a Whitney on Tuesday, Matt.
They all had a bad day at the office today barring Rushworth,we’ve all watched league two football for quite some time now and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Joss Labadie ever have a worse game in his life at a club he’s been at,even with the years that Wards played he was slicing things over the stand Monthe and Taylor would be the first to admit they didn’t even read the game today a trait that makes up for their lack of pace surely Tuesday has to be better from everyone.
Perhaps there is something in the old saying -
Like father like son
Absolutely
I could see some in possessional play in first 15 minutes, but unfortunately we allowed FGR’s to dominate thereafter.
But that’s the worry. Cooper has bags of managerial experience. He changed things. They took possession deeper thereby stretching the pitch and it killed us. Suddenly they had space everywhere. Their wingers isolating our fullbacks, Labadie up against two and as a result our centre backs being ran at which terrified both of them.
Just one simple change from their manager and that was it - game over.
2 days ago - great to see walsall really on the up, great signings, great manager, well done Pomlett for appointing Fullarton, beginning of a new era
Today - the club’s rotten from top to bottom
Give your heads a wobble!!
Wrong team selection, asking players to do jobs they are not accustomed to. We also played a very good side. We fully deserved to lose but I’d point out the following;
-
first half header cleared off the line by FGR
-
first half their keeper makes an outrageous save from, I think, Phillips
-
second half, Wilkinson hits the post with a sublime shot
-
a little while later, our best move of the match ends with Wilkinson placing a perfect shot towards the bottom corner…which hits the leg of a defender
-
Kiernan scores a nice goal
Bizarrely, on a different day, we could have had 5 goals (but also conceded 6 or more!)
Cooper?
Mark Cooper has left. Forest Greens new manager is vastly inexperienced Rob Edwards.
After yet another dismal corner kick by Osadebe in the 2nd half, someone shouted at MT to get someone else to take corners.
He turned round and said “I will”.
One small piece of good news to cling onto.
Lack of experience by the manger here
He’s not in the prem now and what’s he going to achieve by this?
What’s the threat to the players? He’s got no resources to replace them we can barely put a team out.
Just alienates the players
Not good signs early on here
What value did Fullerton and McDonald add here?
Honestly thought he was still there.
So we were undone by a rookie?
Maybe even worse then!!
Mark Cooper is now at Barrow.
Or did I yet again miss the nuance in your post?
Nah - I was wrong - again!
Yep a manager with little experience has took us to the cleaners today, that tells me the problems are a little more deep routed.
Mole spent most of the afternoon running after his kids
I wouldn’t worry, many of us still insist that JWB is in charge at Bescot.
