L 3-1 vs Forest Green Rovers (H) - League Two - Sat 14th Aug, 3pm

I’ve already seen an improvement on Kinsella since Taylor has arrived, and he needs to develop to be more like Labadie, so I agree Labadie or Kinsella.
My preference would be to try Perry alongside Labadie with Wilkinson, Holden, and Shades behind Philips. I’m not a great Osadebe fan, so I’d have him on the bench as cover for a fit Holden.

We haven’t seen much of Perry this season, it will be interesting to see how he develops. The likes of Coogan, Perry, Leak and Willis need us to have a strong development team set of fixtures. I’m not sure Perry would benefit from a loan.

This is the argument I’ve been making for three years!

Glad to see others actually think the same…

It’s not a case of Kinsella being rubbish, it’s a case of the right combination of a middle 2. Kinsella did try to play forward a bit more last week, but I don’t think it comes naturally to him. Fair play if he does transform and grow into that sort of player, I’d be the first to congratulate him, because no one can question is heart and tenacity. That is truly first class.

I think Kins would work in a flat 3 away from home, however.

Or…… right back :wink::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

When osadebe being selected in centre mid ahead of Perry we know there’s something seriously wrong.

Buzzing for the football later. Regardless of covid and no fans, this is different, just really looking forward to actually watching our side football ya know? I don’t feel negative towards the club in any real way.

It’s good to be home in the Midlands for me as well since living elsewhere for years.

I am not sure why everyone is so down on Osadebe and I, for one, see him as an important player for the team. When he and Holden played together, they were very good.

I agree Perry needs to have some games but last year, we were comparing him with Sinclair, Guthrie and Bates. There are a few more around in midfield this year.

Finally, I would always play Kinsella. He’s the type of player who does loads of the ugly stuff and I think he could do it just as well at the next level up.

Read and wrote some shit in the past but this is up there.

@Laundryman I support paddy and he has the real ability to change games but his ball retention and accuracy of passing hasn’t been as good as the others so for me he loses his place.

He’s one of those though. Watch him get in starting eleven today. Play gash but ping two in the top bin to win us the game.

Yeah I can see why he is playing os over perry though, you’ll get more creativity from os than perry and os is more likely to grab goals from midfield. Osadebe has turned into the whipping boy and I’m not sure why, he is younger than kins, not hit his prime and is learning his trade. He is a very good squad player for this level and obviously has something about him that can change a game. Not saying I would chose him over Holden, but 100% he is going to ply an important role this year.

Simply cause his stats are terrible for a number10/ attacking midfielder. He gives the ball away and slows down our attacks. You’ve only gotta look at the corner situation to realise we aren’t learning. They have all the data these days and Matt got a decent size team around him, someone surely gotta point this out to him if he can’t see it himself. You say he creates more but how many assists does he have over his career? The numbers don’t back up that claim at all

Crackers. Mills has been very impressive and has proved he can easily cover for white. Haven’t we said Holden might play a part in today’s game? And finally, I did not get that impression from Rushworth, I got the impression he is a very confident 19 year old who is probably gonna be the difference between mid table and play offs, but there was no feeling of arrogance.

I don’t see what anyone sees In osadebe.
Offered nothing since day one for the club and for me hasn’t really improved.
He is simply tosh imo unless I’m not seeing something someone else sees

Osadebe was our best player under Dutton.

Horses for courses mate, we are a league two team, the lad struggles with consistency but so do a lot of players at this level. Did you close your eyes when he scored 2 and assisted against kiddy? Or when we bossed the first 60 mins of the donny game with him and labadie in midfield. As I said in an earlier post, he isn’t at Holdens level yet but is no where near as poor as people make out, it almost Walsall fashion to have a player we abuse for no real reason. I mean who is right seohiroth? The IT manager, electrician, sales advisor or the chaps who have over 50 years footballing experience?!

Osadebe is frustrating has talent but doesn’t do it enough consistently hoping he kicks on a bit more this season still too early to judge

Saw Holden going into the ground when I arrived earlier to sort my ST out - around 11:30. Maybe having a fitness test to see if he can be in the squad based on what MT said?

Holden is one of the best midfield players in this league when he’s fit I just don’t want us being over reliant on him again this season let’s hope he’s back long term this time.

It was a very low bar.
