“Maybe sometimes you have to feel pain”.
Try the best part of 20 years Matt, weve experienced enough. I was lucky to be there for the 06/07 season as a 17/18 year old lad.
Our young fan base has witnessed nothing but bloody pain.

I’ll get my pre season prediction in now then if he signs him
12th.
Home and curry consumed.
A very entertaining game of football but blimey so frustrating if you support us.
Cook is 80% of their attacking plan. We know all about him and exactly how he profits.
And yet we concede three goals all of which involve crosses lumped onto his fat head.
Sadler, his coaching staff and in particular his skipper have no excuses. Just nowhere near good enough.
Going forward I loved us. A threat all afternoon. Faal was magnificent which made the decision to formulaically hook him all the more bizarre.
Created so many chances and situations. Hutch looking far more like it and that first goal was a thing of absolute beauty.
And that’s the season in a nutshell. Plenty of promise. Some great moments but the tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot undoing us far too often. Also a degree of naivety. Today, once we saw early on that grappling issue as going unpunished, Cook should have been in a permanent headlock.
Anyway - a better season than expected. Been far more fun than any of us thought. Onto next.

Bloody optimist.
While getting a rub himself off Daniel’s
Sadler keeps saying after every game “we’re a very good team “ very worrying ,We ain’t
I agree. We’re close to being a good team but we aren’t a very good team. Very good teams don’t concede goals like we do.
Not sure we’re all that close when we need an entire new front line.
Say we finish 8th-10th.
Who thinks we finish that high next season with Faal and Gordon leading the line? Forget play-offs.
Firstly gotta say that was a really enjoyable game. The kinda stuff you want to see - end to end, plenty of attempts on goal, controversy and a good atmosphere.
I’m glad we gave it a good go - and we did - but I’ve always felt we’d fall short, we’re just lacking in a few departments - notably in defence where we lost the game in a 30 minute period today just because no one could deal with Cook.
Upfront we missed a shed load of chances, probably 4 or 5 gilt edged chances that we scuppered, whilst crucially, Bradford scored with pretty much all 3 of their efforts on target.
I still feel this season has been a missed opportunity, we had a squad capable of a top 5 finish IMO, but there’s just been far too many games where we’ve just not showed up, or our wastefulness in front of goal has cost us points.
I also still feel that we’re going to have to change the way we play for next season if we really want to challenge, we’ve now lost at home twice in a week to teams below us in the league and conceded massive amounts of possession - that’s the reason we concede so easily. It’s not that our defenders can’t defend, it’s just that there are periods in the game where it’s just relentless - wave after wave of attack with no midfield to shield the defence.
If we can keep most of the team together, I’d like to think we stand a better chance next season, but unfortunately I’m pessimistic. We’ll lose Hutch most probably, Jamma looks perpetually unfit and can’t be relied upon. DJ will go. DJT will go. Gordon and Faal both on loan, and whilst I think the club would want to keep both, there’s no guarantee. Same for Okagbue.
Daniels has lost his mojo and now seems to be a mistake waiting to happen.
So from those who have featured recently, Jackson, Daniels, Stirk, Knowles, Foulkes, Gordon (with the possible addition of Taylor Allen) are going to have to form the core of the team next year - that means a big recruitment drive.
To take a wider view. I think Sadz is the man. We have at least half the squad signed up for next season.
I had us mid table, so a top 10 finish and having something positive to play for until the last game is all i could have hoped for this season.
To make myself feel better, i just saw Vale are relegated which is a guranteed 6 points next season.
Faal will score 15-20 goals next season. He’s not far off now with 2 loan spells and he hasn’t yet played a full game for us. Really hope we can sign him
Only way to sum today up is gut-wrenching. To be 2-0 up and things going our way there was a belief and then it all went it shit.
They moved Cook well away from Daniels and we then didn’t deal with him, we didn’t match their tactical change and instead decided to hope for the best and it failed massively.
We did look a lot better when Matt and Faal were up front together, it was causing them so many problems, and then we took Faal off for DJ.
The same DJ who everybody thinks would have had us promoted on his own did absolutely nothing out there, time to end the discussion of whether DJ should start or not, he does not fit our style. No doubting he’s a good goalscorer in the right system but he doesn’t fit us.
We got many things wrong today, and a lot of it was on Sadler but remember, we’ve taken our season to the very end with a chance of the play offs, and that is also on Sadler.
Realistically it’s all over, time to look towards next season. Sadler has a way he wants to play, he has a much better idea of who works with it and who doesn’t and where to improve. Personally, DJ and Daniels would be two gone as soon as possible to free up some funds, both are good players in their own right but they don’t fit. DJ has never suited Sadler’s play, and I think this style of play has out grown Daniels, it has sadly moved on from him, a steady centre back at mid table League Two level, but I’ve seen enough to tell me we need more if we’re to challenge at the top end of the league.
@Belphegor it was more about Gordon complementin him up top mate.
Ive done a U-turn on Faal in the space of 10 days to be honest, think hed be a great pick up next season.
To be 2 nil up and throw it away is very frustrating.
We were in complete control and switched off, not once but twice for goodness sake.
Can’t fault the team for effort but we need much better upfront.
DJ doesn’t have a future Matt is unable to play a full game DJT offers very little and despite how much Josh Gordon runs around his goals return is poor.
Definitely need better than we currently have but I wouldn’t be surprised to see JG signed although I hope not.
Yes, and although I completely get why Sadler signed Josh for the way he plays, and I probably appreciate him more than many others, I don’t see us beng top 3 or 4 next season if he is a regular starter.
If we had a decent striker alongside faal we’d have been top 7
Dj has lost it , matts crocked , djt is rushall level at best and Gordon Sucks ass
really really poor recruitment after we lost draper .
We’re never in control. Our MO is not to control games, we concede too much possession in order to control a game, and that’s our biggest problem IMO
I think with Matt you have to consider what he’ll be like towards the end of next season rather than the start. He might temporarily recover form with a break, but he’s not had much more than half a season this time and he looks knackered.
