Was it COVID or Russian / Libral grey zone attacks which have forced us to be so nasty in society these days.

I said it was mistake letting Joe Low go, I thought there was a good player inside him somewhere and could be a fearless handful up front playing in the Cook role and just needed some mentoring on his attitude.
THere maybe something in this Ai malarkey
To be fair I think Parky would have struggled to interview Sadler, he don’t half waffle in my opinion.
But didn’t he come off during the open training session injured.
So Priestly’s absence is at least partly due to injury if not fully
He also asked if Maher was doing ‘his Grealish impression’ even though he was there apparently.
I agree crod, but I’d rather be in the position of scoring goals and entertaining the fans and having to find a way of shoring up the defence than playing mind numbingly boring football, scoring very few goals and feeling like committing (as professor Stanley Unwin would say) suicidalo.
He was not our player.
On the defensive frailties: last night anyway, the problem was not so much the set up or the organisation but individual errors. Foulkes is a great prospect but he is young and will make errors - you just have to be able to clear the ball, not play it to the opposition star striker. He was in the right place to make the clearance and did not.
In fact, at times, the whole team defending was exceptional. There was one weird period in the first half where the Brighton keeper stood with his foot on the ball for tens of seconds, not having a player to give it to; this happened 4 or 5 times and usually ended with us regaining the ball.
The problem is that, once a team starts to give away goals by individual errors, it becomes hard to stop. It happened to us a few seasons ago where, for what seemed a dozen matches on the trot, we gave away a silly goal (Liam Roberts let in a few tricklers for example). A clean sheet would make a huge difference. And McEntee should be in the back three/two.
A final point on the football. As a few have said, the quality of the football we are playing is way above what we have seen in recent seasons. Comparisons with Matt Taylor’s team are way, way off the mark. We have seen more creativity and excitement in the few games so far than in the whole of Taylor’s period in charge.
How on earth did DJT not even get that header on target?
Any half decent natural goalscorer puts that away with his eyes closed.
There were some positives last night, but it was yet another terrible defensive performance.
I have been watching Walsall for over sixty years, and think that this is the worst defence they have ever had in that time. By no means the worst team, since we have some decent forwards and midfielders, but both individually and collectively our defence is way below what should be expected.
I agree with the fact that Sadler is green or naive (like Mat Taylor) in terms of management experience, in contrast to Flynn, who got the team looking workmanlike and efficient fairly quickly. Add DJ and the draws turned into 1-0 wins; take DJ away, and everybody knows what happened next.
Tactically, moving away from a 4231 with two holders (Comsella) to create a defensive screen, to a 352 (are our fullbacks even defenders?) will create more attacking intent but will inevitably leave gaps.
I believe that we play 3 centre halves because Donervan has had injury problems in his career, Hussey can no longer do what he could in his Cheltenham years and a third centre back is essentially a head on a stick (Williams or Farquhar and last season, Hayden White).
The quality of attacking intent is better (against Brighton, we had over 20 shots but just 4 on target; Brighton had 4 on target from just 4 shots) but we will definitely concede more goals playing a system with 2 up top.
I am excited by Draper, I love DJ and I haven’t given up hope that Matt can deliver important goals as the season progresses.
A proper full back would make a big difference and some of Sadler’s ‘experiments’ have failed. However, I do believe that his approach is less abrasive than Flynn’s. Also, playing the youngsters is something positive that Flynn rarely did in his time at the club.
For perspective, I’m sure that Graham Taylor started his management career at Lincoln and then proceeded to lose his first 8 games (or something like that). We desperately need a clean sheet but I remain positive that we can turn the club’s fortunes around, given time and patience.
We need Priestley back quickly. Wasn’t that impressed pre season but his stats on interceptions etc last year were excellent and he will put his body on the line and clear the lines better than we have done so far without him
Moaner. Why did you even go?!
Extended highlights from yesterday.
It’s not a bad watch and shows DJT getting in a couple of good positions and probably could have scored a couple.
Still think first goal was hand ball… And the own goal one of that probably 9/10 he gets enough on it and it goes for a corner.
I have to disagree…
Daniels & Farquharson are very highly rated defenders in this league.
Hussey played his part in a strong Stockport team last season there fans were gutted when he left.
McEntee looks a decent prospect has does Williams.
I think the problem is individual errors & lack of cover from Midfield if only we had DM who would put his life on the line to defend the ball…Kinsella
I think that much is obvious
Kinsella was bang average. No thanks. Move on.
What’s concerning watching Mat’s interview is that he thinks playing Mcentee further up the pitch is a good idea???. Really??. He must see something the fans don’t!!. Square pegs in round holes
Don’t worry - He’s got a UEFA Pro License.
Must mean a lot that licence then
