Which is a straight Johnson for Tierney replacement, otherwise unchanged. It would be my team too but I think Sadler believes Johnson unbalances the team.
DJ won’t be upfront on his own and Sadler has said he’ll stay with back 4 (has no choice really), which means 442…that means no Hutch and no Tierney….and prob no Draper as I think Matt will play.
I don’t follow that argument. He has played with a back 4 in both the last two games and Hutchinson and Tierney have played in both.
With 1 up front and no DJ.
I think DJ will play (I think there’ll be pressure to after 0-0) so that means a partner up front (not Draper) which I think will be Matt given Sutton’s physicality….
If you play DJ and keep a back 4 there’s a trade off and it’s in midfield…

He may need it.
He’s played every min of every league game and Sadler himself said the distances he runs and the distances run at speed are unrivalled in the squad, possibly in the division.
I just think we’ll go 442 and neither him or Tierney start in that.
I think Matt will play, a really impressive cameo in midweek and Sutton are a big, strong, physical side so he will want that strength and aerial ability up top.
Played six minutes and touched the ball once, maybe twice

Matt has no aerial ability.
And if as you say they are a big strong side, then why play to their strengths and try and have an aerial battle with them? Could be a difficult place to go if we do that.
I’ve rewatched from Matt coming on in the 87th minute until the end of the game. He touched the ball four, maybe five times. He also contested five headers and didn’t win any of them. Not sure how impressive that is.
