L 4-0 vs Sutton United (A) - League Two - Sat 7th Oct, 3pm

He may well start, due to Draper needing a rest, but I can’t see how Tuesday night could be described as “impressive”.

And lost out 4 times challenging for a header

I think/fear they could overpower us, we need someone who can make the ball stick up top a bit. It’s not like we’re likely to out-football them.

I’ve got that elfin song stuck in my head now

Does this help Boldmere? Nice red Cod piece @JoaquinErnesto lol

Probably because the bar is so low that if they can put their boots on the right feet they are in with a chance of starting :joy:

Edit. Looks like it was a different video. This is the official one.

Matt received criticism that went too far earlier this season. Now there’s a strange backlash where he gets showered with praise for accomplishing the basics.

It comes from a nice place I guess, but I’ve seen very little from him to suggest he will make much of a contribution this season.

I think that’s football fans across the globe for you.

I always think when expectations exceed outcome you’re f*cked……when outcome exceeds expectations you’re a hero……no matter how high or low.

We’re all guilty of it sometimes.

Not really😂

Agree to a degree. His performance at Crewe was embarrassing for all concerned, including him. Admittedly he was feeding off scraps but he literally did not move. Seen a couple of cameo’s since when he has occasionally held the ball up, but mostly just bounces off him so we lose possession. OK our lack of possession issues are not down to him but he doesn’t help. Understandably lost some of the pace he had, we do not play a system to suit him (ie. we rarely get decent crosses in) but Sadler goes to him over DJ. I can get that in some situations even if i don’t think he can do the job Sadler expects, he is weak in the challenge, get’s bullied by defenders (i thought that was his job) and our hoofs just bounce off him back to the opposition. How anyone can bring JM on ahead of DJ on Tuesday is beyond me. Just have a go with Freddy and DJ 2 up top ffs or at least use our potential striking combinations a bit more effectively

To get to the magical (mythical :grinning: ) 80 pts this one is a win to go to 534 and 18 points just below the 20 target for approx 1/4 of the season gone.

“Up the Football league we go”

We’ve got this

Can we make this our anthem or a chant for when we come out. Like how Sheffield sing that one about chip buttys or Z-cars for Everton and Watford…

Very unique!

Can’t see anything else but a 3-0 win .

Get the goals early doors , shut up shop and knock it about until 8.30pm when injury time is over .

Cigars lit by 8.20 .

3 points in the bag . Next .

Unfortunately we’re not good/consistent enough and against certain opposition we are really thin in terms of options. Partly through injuries and partly due to some ill thought through recruitment.

Again, you can see times where you think we could achieve something, times when it looks as though the game is a complete stranger to us and times where we’re distinctly average.

To bolster that win column up and beyond the draw and loss columns we need offensive players who can make things happen and defensive players who very very rarely make schoolboy errors. We’re not quite blessed with enough of either.

Gonna be lots of injury time if it goes on until anywhere near 8:30 pm!
