L 4-2 vs Wrexham (A) - League Two, Tue 15th August, 7:45pm

I see more Asian people at the match now than I used to which is great . There is so much more that could be done to improve this though .
Maybe free tickets to 1 or 2 games sent out to the mosques and temples in walsall of which there are many .

Not possible because of Brexit. Generating revenue selling players picked up from academies more likely. But yet to see evidence this is what they want to do.

Why do you put Kinsella with those two waste of spacers. Kinsella tackled way better than those two and was battered most matches. Hed get up without a complaint and certainly no petulant booking

Maybe. But Ireland is still in the EU, so it would be possible with say Drogheda, and the Uk has FOM with Ireland, so say if a company owned, say Drogheda they could then move that player to Walsall. Maybe.

BB has links with these too https://www.sovereignfootball.com/

I’d say 50%, so selling for £15m. Doesn’t seem impossible and I would say football clubs and their fans are a very under tapped resource. Look at the amount of time wasted on here :joy:

Makes a change from fans being perceived as a nuisance under previous regimes.

Trivela would not have needed to invest £10 million of their own money, rather they would have persuaded banks to lend them the money with the freehold of the ground as collateral. Remember how the Glazers “bought” Man Utd by borrowing £500 million against the value of the club, with all the loan repayments and interest coming out of the club’s annual profits.

I’m not saying you’re wrong. But I thought Trivela had used investors money rather than borrowing from the banks like the Glazers.

If I was a Man UTD fan I’d be livid.

Thought it was £800 million? Either way a piss take.

So did I. I thought they were an investment vehicle for relatively high worth, often sports connected, individuals. I’d have thought they’d be looking at 8 percent or so. That’s a lot of cash out of a small team.

If it’s the Glazer model, god help us.

Yes I believe some investors take that, but if I was an American investor I simply wouldn’t bother for 8%. It’s just not worth the hassle/risk.

I understand that the value of Walsall fc has increased by more than 8% for previous owners also.

Not necessarily. They maybe looking to use it as a vehicle for building a bigger portfolio of clubs / building the club to a point where they sell it on for a profit.
I really can’t see them using it as some sort of cash cow. Better things to invest in.

Long term scheme I’d say. And a bit of fun/interest as an investment for the partners many of whom are from sports backgrounds.

That’s the thing though, it’s not clear. There was this article which seemed incongruous with an investment company trying to make money.

“We want to make the club better on and off the pitch—to win more matches and move up the leagues and so on. But more than that, my partners and I are [investing in the town], the people of Walsall, and the players. It’s not strictly about making money, or even making the club better—it’s about the future of the entire town.”

“Good deeds”, rich Christians trying to help and make the world a better place… whilst having fun and potentially making more money in the long run.

As a committed atheist ,I might need to be looking for another team. My nephew, in protest at Greenwood, is looking to get rid of his manure ST (he lives up there). Can’t think of anything more satanic

Kins is a nice bloke. He has heart and commitment.
But sadly, at the end of the day, he just wasn’t good enough

“Isaac is going to be a very good player,” said the boss. “As soon as he realises he has to have that same conviction game-in, game-out. I am hoping he grows into it.“

He seems along way off that level I think. He needs to be far more consistent. He also gives the ball away far too cheaply and to often. Problematic in League 1,in the championship can’t do that. You’ll get punished. He wouldn’t be with us would he if he was really good lol:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Sums up what most feel about following the Saddlers. We are indeed a club that accepts failure as the norm. Thought things might be better this season, we seemed to have picked up some reasonable quality attackers but have been sunk with a defence like a colander.
