I’d be neither as well, if it is about first choice strikers, however, either would do as back up as I can’t see the budget running to 3 or 4 new strikers for next season. At least we know what we have got with those two ( cue derogatory comments 
).
I suppose it depends on the preferred style of play.
Given the incompetence of our manager and the way he sets the team up (and chops and changes it), I suggest the title of this thread could even have been Lavery or Gordon or Adebayo (if he was still here). No midfield, no football, no creativity, no service means no goals. Even Aguero would struggle in a Dutton team that has left our strikers isolated and feeding on scraps.
We can spend a fortune on strikers in the close season, but put them in our set up, nothing will change. Get rid of Dutton and replace him with someone who knows what he is doing and you might get a different outcome.

Its a real shame that neither player is working out for us, both came with a decent pedigree but this season they have not even come close to being a decent League 2 striker. In the case of Gordon I am really frustrated as during our relegation battle from L1 there was a period when he looked like he was going to come on leaps and bounds and I was really worried we would lose him in the close season. If someone had come in and said that it would be Adebayo that received the ‘big money’ move to the Championship and not Gordon I would have choked on my Balti pie.
For me it is get rid of both, a 3 month break in the summer won’t change a thing. They have both had 2 seasons in this division and a total of 12 goals combined this year is woeful. Wish them no ill will but we need a clear out and they both need a new challenge
Probably have to be Gordon more mobile and can play in a number of positions decent squad player just needs to rediscover some form.
Neither, get rid of both of them.
If I had to choose though, I’d keep Lavery.
The whole ‘Gordon was injured for a long time’ by the commentators on ifollow every week is a terrible excuse, 1 goal since December and only 1 goal from open play this season.
If i had to pick id still pick Gordon, in the hope a pre season might get him looking match fit again, but he will never be a “goalscorer”. I think a move on will suit him and us to be honest.
Lavery is an extremely poor footballer, he is so slow, he cant head the ball, he misses easy chances (not the only one obviously), he cant hustle as he isn’t physically a very good player either. I’m amazed he has made a career as a forward surely another position would have suited him by now. Lets not forget Lavery was really only signed because he was the last man left 
, or at least it felt like that at the time.
I’d show both of them the door, although whether either of them could then manage to find it is debatable.
Both poor Gordon annoys me most spends his time either on the floor or giving away free kicks let them both go.
Pretty sure he was out for a month or so, it wasn’t exactly an ACL or a break. Very lame excuse that one.
I’m not a huge fan of either, but it’s not like they’ve had great service to do much better. Think they look much worse than they really are because of that
If I have to choose, neither. Both are from different ‘projects’, both probably aren’t suited for the future role as a striker. I know, with better service they can show something different, but it means implantation of a new team’s backbone will be tough.
A reflection: strikers are rarely effective on their own. Partnerships matter. Buckley and Wright, Lightbourne and Wilson, even Kirby and Clarke. Lavery and Gordon do not really gel in my view and it is a great pity that neither of them was allowed to play alongside the new improved Adebayo. There seems to be no chemistry between Gordon and Lavery at all.
Lavery is a good header of the ball but lacks pace: Gordon tries very hard but, of late, seems to have lost confidence in front of goal. They both try hard and, of the two, Gordon is a shade more effective. I would persevere with him and let Lavery find pastures new. But it might be that they would both be more effective alongside another forward.
Wonder which one Aldi will choose.

Lavery is the more intelligent player anc gets into good positions, unfortunately he is too slow and slips over too often.
Gordon is more flexible but needs to play as a number 9 not as a wide man. He’s frustrating because his control is poor and he gives away needless freekicks.
I thought that against Salford he looked angry, frustrated and fighting for a contract.
I’d keep Gordon.
It’s fair to say neither have done anywhere near enough to deserve a new deal but if I had to pick one of them I’d choose to jump off the advertisement sign behind the away end.
Gordon Another player who seems be going backwards compared to just before lockdown when we had Stewart as attacking coach. With a good pre season and a decent coach (Not Dutton) He could come good again.

Gordon was excellent last season he’s been awful this season dunno what’s happened to him looks a different player
