Port vale fans seem super confident given their signings. Most expect top 7 minimum . A fair few top 3.
I’ve don’t really rate Darren Moore as a manager, but he did get Sheffield Wednesday promoted.
Spoken with Darren a fair bit about football as he was part of my charity board, really knowledgeable amd a throughly nice bloke to boot.
His first three stints as manager were relatively successful. He brought some respectability back to the Albion at the end of their relegation season from the PL. Sacking him when they were in 4th didn’t work out for them.
He had Donnie pushing for promotion before leaving to join Sheff Wed and as you say took them up. What they did in the 2nd leg of the playoff semifinal against Peterborough, after being 4-0 from the first leg was remarkable. That season also brought about the breaking of three club records.
Along the way he has also won a number of Manager of the Month awards.
Since then I reckon his stock has fallen a little, not aided by being involved in Huddersfield, who were in basket case territory, and Port Vale who were dire and heading in one direction. Be interesting to see if he can rebuild and turn Port Vale around. Some of their signings so far look decent on paper.
I’d have had him here as manager.

Cheltenham town have got Gary Johnson as DOF who got Torquay almost from the national league south and need I say anymore on Flynn

Would that be the same Gary Johnson who got promoted with yeovil twice who took yeovil to there highest ever league ? Or the Gary Johnson that got bristol city promoted when he took over when they wrre near enough rock bottom

Those achievements were over a decade ago. Torquay was last season. My opinion doesn’t change I’d still bet my mortgage with you that they won’t come top half

It’s only pre season these games mean nothing results wise apart from getting minutes into legs and trying out potentially new things and partnerships
Who cares. Pre season means nothing. Only ever been 2 hibs at home, le harve away and the Scotland tour we did.
I’d much rather us have signed some of the players Bradford city have than where we sit currently squad wise
Same Bradford signings that their own fans aren’t happy with where apparently their budget has been blown with the first signing they made?
Couple more incomings for us and we’ll be more than fine.
