Bradford 2-1 up
Jamma will wonder how he’s not got at least 2 by now….
Wimbledon now 1-0 up
Just checked the form and Barrow are on a reasonable run. So possibly a draw for them at Vale tomorrow evening
Vale drop points tomorrow, they play Crewe away Saturday, Bradford next Tuesday then us on the Saturday.
Interesting to see how many points they pick up there.
Barrow are awful away one of the worst teams in the league away from home, tomorrow is a forgone conclusions.
Will be a case of how many for vale sadly
Last 4 for Barrow 2 away draws, 1 away win and a home win.
They came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Wimbledon on Saturday with 2 minutes to go so can’t be that awful away!
Pressure is on for Vale. Nothing is a given.
Unless your name is Shay…
Jamma is not a natural goal scorer, unlike DJ who can’t get a game for love nor money. Jamma is ok when he’s fighting it out with the center half, ripping each others shirts off their backs 40yds from goal. Even though Trivela promised we would come out of the January transfer window stronger than we went in, we fundamentally didn’t , Sadler panicked as we came to the end of January and got in Levi and Harrison who are no better than Jamma, which is why Sadler keeps playing Albert up front.
I disagree about not coming out of January stronger, although I do see where people are coming from.
We lost Lowe - massive loss and can’t be replaced directly.
Harrison came in who scored 11 in 33 at league one level a couple of years back. Last season he scored 8 in 1,047 minutes at league two. He’s a handful at this level and better than quite a few we’ve had at league one level.
Asiimwe has minutes for Charlton at league one level and looks more than capable at league two level.
Chang is a ridiculous signing at league two level by reputation and looked very good on Saturday. He should give us a lot of control in midfield if played properly. He’s Hall level by reputation (and a short eye test), so should be playing.
Barrett and Asiimwe should be sharing minutes to manage load and always have a fresh player in that position.
Chang is a Lowe level signing, but in a different position (promising youngster with 1,000 minutes of championship football under his belt).
I can’t help but feel like we haven’t made good enough use of the squad that we have since January.
When we’re chasing a game, we shouldn’t be bringing Comley on while Chang isn’t even on the bench.
I can’t imagine Comley would be ahead of Chang at many clubs whether at Championship, league one or league two level.
Gareth Ainsworth is leaving Shrewsbury to become the new manager of Gillingham.
So! How do you think results have gone since January?
Absolutely terribly.
The point I’m making is that with Lowe gone, but the signings we’ve made, the blame shouldn’t be on the transfer activity, but how we’ve been managed.
I’m not calling for Sadler’s head, but I am saying that the team that we have is significantly better than the 1 point per game that we’re getting at the moment.
Sadler has done very well to get us to this position, but very badly since getting us there.
Amantchi shouldn’t be ahead of DJ. Comley shouldn’t be ahead of Chang. Asiimwe should have had more minutes. Jellis shouldn’t have been pushed to the left to accommodate McEntee in midfield. We shouldn’t have gone full long ball football as we look good when we play.
These things are much bigger problems, much easier to fix and far more realistic than signing a Lowe quality striker.
Not sure which departure is the more surprising.
I had to laugh, he’s left a league one club for a division two club. Aren’t the Shews league two nearly.
That pretty much confirms Shrewsbury’s relegation. Hope we don’t end up playing them next season! Wonder if Ainsworth pushed for this himself or if he was pushed out the door?
Where’s this come from? No mention of this on either clubs websites, and nothing on Gills site about sacking John Coleman.
