Season long loan from Watford
Goalkeeper
We love a loan goalkeeper these days don’t we?
Good age to be fair. Good to know who Hornby will be kicking balls at for the first year of his two year deal.
Super Myles Roberts in goal
Decent record in non league did well in Scotland as well, injury curtailed his time at Bristol Rovers last year but they evidently thought he was league one level?
Welcome to the Saddlers Myles
He’s “buzzing to be here”, obviously, he’s a hornet.
Can’t be worse than the last Roberts we had in goal anyway
Some highlights from his time in Scotland: https://x.com/mylesroberts_/status/1854569427376771428?s=46&t=kfUO4C5lMS44-glXxumn-A
Positive comments from Partick Thistle fans when he signed for Bristol Rovers:
Says out of contract in the summer (posted February) So did Watford give him a new contract?
I don’t mind a keeper on loan if he is better than what we could get elsewhere, to be fair.
Welcome Myles
Good signing. The training tops look nice too.
I can’t say I’ve ever heard of him but a warm welcome to Myles and looking forward to seeing you playing.
With name like Myles, I bet he can kick the ball a long way.
Ideal for hoofball.
Myles is 3 years older than Tommy Simpkin. He was just 19 when he joined last season and in my opinion wasn’t quite ready for the step up at that point.
Definitely think he was at the level at the season though.
I’m encouraged by the Myles Robert’s signing. As he’s older he’s more likely to hit the ground running. Would have been their player if the season had he stayed at Partick
Welcome to the Saddlers Myles!
Unlike some, I like a loan signing as a keeper and we have done OK with that over the last couple of seasons. He is nice and tall too, which I think is a real plus in League 2.
Welcome Myles and good luck for the season.
Molests berrys
Best of luck to him! Welcome, Myles.
Each signing has been an improvement on the last. Well at least in terms of name anagrams
So we look to be loaning our goalkeeper and main goal scorer again.
There was me thinking things would change.
0 games for Bristol Rovers is concerning.
They got relegated so you’d have thought he’d have got a chance with them conceding 2-3 every week.
Also 23 so far older than likes of Simkin and Rushworth when they came in so not getting into a poor league one team dosen’t feel convincing.
The way the article reads he’s been signed as back up to Hornby.
I did wonder with Sam committing to two years rather than extra 12 months if he’d been promised he’d start the season as first choice but I don’t really see him as the week in week out keeper.
Don’t think the defence is going to be as strong as for much of last season with a few of these moves.
