Gotta be honest im not worried at all. Hes not daft. Taking over a struggling side half way through the season which is potential career suicide if it goes tits up, or get a promotion on your CV and command bigger wages in the future.
Unless someone comes in with silly money i just cant see it. Thats before we get into the realms of if he is good enough to coach at a higher level.
In any case can we please get him a new coat with all the letters on

I’m not foolish enough to think he couldn’t be tempted away.
No guarantee he will get a promotion this season but we are in a very strong position. A promotion on your CV carries a lot of weight for a long time in the future, there will always be some club that will see that and take a chance on you. Take the wrong move prematurely and your managerial career can nosedive very quickly.
A club like Walsall always needs to be ready and prepared for this kind of situation if we want to have success anyway. Even if the worst happened, all of the hard work has been done to get us in this position, a sensible appointment should be more than capable of seeing the job through.

I think it would take a big offer to prize him away six months early with us top of the league at Xmas. But then again i dont know him.
The current fad of foreign coaches in the leagues above us might help us out in this aspect…

I tend to agree with you. His stock isn’t likely to go down much in that time, but could go up quite a bit.
Dean Smith was completely different, he couldn’t wait to get away, mainly down to how he had been treated by Bonser and the ever decreasing budgets.

Agreed, i think Dean Smith would have loved to stay but when your stock is rising and your budgets being pilfered every year i dont blame him.
But pining for Rotherham though, still annoys me even now Did him a favour not letting him go there anyway.

I think it could and would of been anyone who showed an interest in him in the end though, the way the leech treated him budget wise, think he got out before his stock was lowered by the weakening of squad each season.

didn’t brentford come for smith when we were in a good position.He legged it.
He did, but he was looking for a way out because of his ever decreasing budgets and probably other reasons. He wanted to go to Rotherham the season before but was blocked.
Brentford was quite a big job also. I doubt Sadler’s stock is high enough yet to get an on the up ambitious Championship club to come knocking, you never know though.

I’m obviously on the wrong side of history on last season’s Sadler debate (as are 90% or so of the people that said they’d like to see him gone as I remember that poll) - I held my hands up, had a laugh about it and am delighted to be wrong.
Personally I think with us being top of the league and the feeling at the club being great, things like this that’s aimed at picking out a certain poster to goad them into an online argument isn’t massively helpful or something that reflects well on anyone.
Just my opinion, but I’ve seen it a few times and I can’t see the point of it.
