New Sadler poll

I think we wait till next season now if he fails to get us into the championship that season we sack him then .

Yep spot on. Shows a lot about those people. Would rather gloat than actually be happy the team is doing well. It’s really weird.

Yep, he’ll never do it in league 1 :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hes doing such a great job, but its weird that theres not much outpouring of love for him from the terraces.

I really like him, good young manager, comes across really well. Also plays some great football.

Do we think the lack of love is:

  • becuase we know its not just him doing great work, but hes a cog in a bigger structure?
  • because he hasnt done anything yet?
  • becuase he has a vocal coaching team?

Or all or a bit of each plus more?

It’s the Walsall way mate.

I remember having an argument with a bloke at Nott’s County for slagging Graydon off after we lost 2-1

If he does it, and I think he will, he will join a very small elite group of managers that have got Walsall promoted. Maybe then he will get a bit more love.

Tense times, with each win it gets a bit closer, and a bit more nervy.

I think he came out with a lot of rubbish last season . He also made a lot of calls that baffled everyone - Evans, Daniels, DJ. I don’t think some of the questions post match helped him. He just wasn’t so relatable. Plus he’s not got that glowing personality that others have.

But he’s winning with his own players. I thought he should have been delivering this last season. Without that purple patch mid season we’d have been in bother - but doing the business this season.

I think Walsall way is harsh. Colin Lee did well for us but wasn’t loved. Sadler strikes me as a similar personality.

But if he wins promotion / a title he will be a legend simple as.

I think Saddler is much warmer than any of our last few managers. He always praises the fans, never knocks the players and always has a smile. That can make him a bit robotic but I’d rather that than taking all the credit or blaming others.

I honesty can’t see how you thought he should of done this last season. He inherited a mess of a club who had been finishing around 16th and we had Wrexham and Stockport in the league, who would knock our budget out the water. I think it’s fantastic what Sadler has done this season so far, proves sticking with a manager can work.

@Mossa dont overly disagree with you. It can work, it doesn’t always but has here. But there were long periods where we were utterly incoherent and not at the races. That was At Sadlers door ! His recruitment at RWB / Strikers was miles off it ! The collapses we suffered in several games away resulting in heavy defeats.

I don’t buy the Stockport Wrexham Mansfield thing. When we can’t compete with Morecambe / Barrow / Crawley questions are rightly asked. Won’t apologise for that. I expect WFC to hold its own in tier 3. With forays in to tier 2 and the of spell in Tier 4.

The longer you spend at tier 4 the more risk you run of becoming the team who falls out of it. Someone posted the L2 table from when Money took us up. So many clubs from then are non league now or non existent !

But look forward to promotion

How you have the temerity to judge on the job Sadler did last season is baffling.

Werent you were espousing Barrow as an example of ‘good management ’ earlier in the season? (Though noticeably short on detail what this good management was)

Barrow currently sit 15th in the table.

To be fair that’s probably 3 items from a how to manage and win over fans course,

Is it that we don’t get carried away either way? Keates ,Taylor and Flynn had run out of road, but left on reasonably good terms with the fans.

I vaguely recall at one point he had a little dig at the fans last season when there were rumblings about some of his strange calls. I suspect someone higher up the hierarchy gave him a tug and pissed in his ear.

He clearly learned so jolly good.

As you were.

Someone posted earlier that Sadler was robotic - I have to disagree and in my opinion, he’s very natural in the pressers… Actually one of the things that stands out vs many managers at different levels…

I can humbly admit I was Sadler out last season, frustrated with match day selections, baffling in game tactical decisions and a stubbornness. This season he appears calmer, more considered in his selection r ref letting the opposition. In game substitutions have been generally very positive and he has definitely got the whole squad pulling together as one. Not sure how recruitment has worked, how much influence Sads has on it but I believe he was adamant that we pursue both Barrett and Lowe and both have been exceptional. Success is a collective but usually build around a coach/ manager in whom all believe and trust … that seems to be in place this season, for the first time in years. IF we can maintain this form over Christmas/New year fixtures we will be right in the mix for automatic promotion which would be a huge stride forward on last year. I believe in the project, Trivela have delivered on all of the early promises and Sadler has repaid the faith they have shown in him. I’ve been following this great club for over 40 years and this season is bringing back some great memories, enjoying the ride with my son in tow home and a few away days too. Bring on Doncaster, Newport, Notts and Cheltenham and let’s keep the promotion band wagon rolling

I think sadler has grown really well into all aspects of the roll. I mean doing interviews for someone who it might not come natural for them would take time, so maybe his first few he may have sounded like he read from a script because he didnt want to say wrong thing. But now hes more accustomed to it and more natural and flows more.

Possibly.

I think some on here will never come around.

I think he deserves way more love.

They finished 8th and 9th the last two seasons. Punching above their weight and ahead of many many other clubs who purport to be “having a go” pretty self explanatory. Tell me if you think Barrow are a better club than us ? They aren’t and shouldn’t have out performed us.

All I want is for a coherent organised team … with that will come wins and results. Getting battered away at Sutton with your best player Hutch “left out” wasn’t good. Ditto MK and others.

But it’s all lost on you.

Sadler very lucky to have kept his job. Glad he has because he’s now delivering what’s expected.

But I suspect if we were sat 16th having lost 3-0 to Harrogate today you’d still be here going oh give him time we are doing okay last year we were 17th !! Ridiculous
