New Stadium?

Don’t believe travela has a plan for us to move or build a stadium. If it was to happen retail park in walsall is obvious bet, iceland pound strechers have gone, i know walsall council want to re.invent saddlers center. So if this was to happen thats where i think we could end up.

Yep definitely more money in real estate. What you seem to be describing is land banking, but doesn’t make sense tò me. If you want to do that why do you need to buy a football club and tie up a big chunk of capital to do that?

Don’t think the footprint is large enough. I think people underestimate how much space you need to build a modern football stadium with access, parking and H&S demands for space. I’m not convinced there is anywhere realistically without demolishing or moving existing premises that would be suitable within a 10-15 minute walk of the town centre.

There was a man with spray paint by the away end earlier, think he is marking up the services in the ground. Wonder if the plans to expand the away end to match the big stand are back on the table

I take it you havn’t been to Brentford.

Or Wimbledon.

Wimbledon’s ground has impressed me the most, it’s modern but doesn’t feel like a soulless bowl like Doncaster’s does. It’s been designed well

I agree, It feels like it is part of the community. And to think what a dump their original stadium was.

Picked this up on ebay.
Flicking through pages found this artists impression of a proposed new ground. No explanation, just the picture. Any ideas?

I think it was suggested that it should be built near the motorway in the Bentley area, I think on the old power station site. I have no idea what stage the project got to, beyond that architectural impression.

My insider source reckons he’s off to Drogheda in exchange for their chip fryer.

The way it’s going they will sell the stadium/land and we will ground share with rushall when we’re in the national league

What is her name?

My interpretation of the situation is that:
The Saddlers will remain at Bescot.
The owners have expectations that our on-the-pitch status will improve in the medium to long term.
