But they are being bankrolled by a couple of individuals with more money than sense who could just shrug off the loss of £10+M if the gamble fails - or just walk away and leave someone else with the mess (like happened at Bury). That isn’t who we’ve got running our club.
How ever they finance it, done right, throwing money at Wrexham fc has taken them from non league obscurity to the most talked about club ( apart from the big 6) in the country, done right,it works.
They can stick it up their arse for me Sid. Prefer us as we are, or preferably one league higher.
Personally I hope everything goes wrong at Wrexham and they end up back in non league with £25m overdraft, I was just pointing out that at the moment Wrexham fans are on the journey of a lifetime and we are left complaining about the 5th? Manager in about 3 years.
How can you put those words in the same post is totally beyond me. (from someone who flew ryanair from Frankfurt to London and back every weekend for 2 years - I gave up and flew the next 5 years by British Airways and paid the extra £30 or thereabouts.)
You must have been on a dodgy route for them. They are statistically the most reliable (low cost?) airline in Europe - or certainly were the last time I looked. Have been for years.
Yeah they used to say our flight was delayed by 2 hours then got the passengers who should have been on the flight after ours onto what should have been ours and shifted us back another 2 hours so they could claim only 1 flight was delayed.
And Frankfurt Hahn was a disaster in the winter. ex US airforce base that is high up in the hills and didn’t have the necessary snow clearing equipment which meant we regularly had our flights moved to Cologne with a bus transfer to Hahn to pick up my car. Disaster airline.
I regularly play golf in Spain with a guy who was Ryanair’s pilot in chief for a number of years. He knows O’Leary very well.
Describes him as a piece of work but an incredibly clever and driven individual.
Just to clarify, he’s not the bloke that was sacked this year
Are they actually Wrexham fans though ?
Bloke who goes in our local about 50ish suddenly discovered a deep and undying love for Wrexham absolutely ridiculous.
Great use of public funds. Lets pay more tax to fund it.
As long as it is Welsh tax payers money, I’m fine with that. Couldn’t give a bigger hoot if I tried about them to be honest. Sooner they are out of the way the better. Pity they (the Welsh) don’t do as Scotland do and have their own league…oh, hang on a bit…
No
They did it the other way round, and BOUGHT the mess
We sat next to our pilot on a trip back from Tenerife which was a bit unnerving
Turned out he had done his hours, so we had to land in Faro on the way back until his replacement was found
Was at my Moms today and she had had a booklet through the door called ‘The Pioneer’. It included this article which I thought was mildly interesting.
We need a big wall of rusty corrugated iron to bang on. That would solve the “atmosphere” problem
Just seen that Tranmere lost another lump of money last year and that moving ground is part of a potential solution.
Always seems quite a lot of room for development there (behind the Clipper and behind their big Kop). Moving to some “sports complex” would be quite sad. A 2030 version of Bescot.
I love Prenton Park. Reminds me of what Fellows Park could have become. Four unique stands. Some big, some small, some slanty and uneven.
But proper character that retains an atmosphere with 5,000 whilst having the capacity to seat over 16,000 with mostly unrestricted views.

Another big non league club goes under, seems like more and more clubs are finding it increasingly tough.
I think Taunton town are also in a mess .
Good old Norman Smurthwaite bought the ground to save the football club then sold it to the Rugby club which then evicted the football club always bad blood between the Rugby club and Football club .
Dodgy Tash as well
