That’s it then it stays where it is.
Tbf it’s allegedly from the proceeds of selling our existing ground, with spare being trousered by investors, which I’m sure has happened somewhere before…?
I think the council should think radical. The Saddlers Centre is a dead duck. Demolish this and put the shops that are still open into the high street. Build the stadium on the footprint of the Saddlers Centre - ready made car park, railway station and bus network. The area opposite where the bingo place is could become a community sports zone with astro turf pitch, gym and entertainment zone. The old imperial could be converted into a community hub with loads of community based activities to breath new life into the area. With the conferencing side that would be generated by the club, hotels and bars would benefit. For those worried about the advertising screen we could replace this with blimps and drones flying in formations win win all round… could also host concerts as no neighbours moaning
The Saddlers Centre site isn’t anywhere near big enough, not to mention the additional cost of incorporating the train station and tracks which run beneath it into the equation. Here’s the current site, the Saddlers Centre, and the two imposed onto each other:
I’ve heard that Morrisons is struggling and will likely shut down entirely.
Apparently the powers that be believe it would be the ideal site for a new football stadium.
I think moving to Denmark would be somewhat extreme.
I have a few concerns to be honest, they have been here a short time and are now thinking of a new ground, why? What’s the real reason here? The team aren’t any better than before they arrived, the crowds aren’t much bigger (maybe a little), are we pushing for promotion, well no, we can’t get near the top 7.
If we were up in league 1 and challenging, getting crowds of 7 - 8k (with improved numbers of away fans), then would you look to build a second tier on the away end or the main stand, where there is room and space to do it? Would that be your first consideration before looking at new development sites when the crowds have not improved.
Concerning thoughts for me as there feels there may be another agenda somewhere down the line, i just don’t see the logic at the minute - if we were Wrexham then i would, crowds of 10k every other week, money going in to the playing side, already one promotion under there belts, whats the truth?
Has the advantage of reducing our carbon footprint by having a scratchings “payment” facility on site.
Yes that the sort of thing I was thinking. The club could create a mirco-town that is self-sustaining. The roofs could be solar panels and the grass coudl be kept shoirt by sheep with the wool used to knit the kits.
No imagination - we buy the whole of that part of town demolish it and create a sport village linked to the University, Cricket and Rugby clubs
The Olympics could ground share
Fair cop, I’ll take the whoosh on the chin.
I suppose they’d name it after one of the fellows on the board.
And Severn Trent want Bescot for a sewage works.win win.

We could have the whole town centre demolished and build the ground there, with ample car parking, and room for a nice club shop and a new Saddlers Club. There is already a railway station there, which is ideal. So, the town centre would need to be rebuilt somewhere…fortunately there will be an available site at Bescot, handy for the Motorway and also with a railway station already in situ. The more I think about it, the more I like it and the more convinced I am that there is no downside to this brilliant plan.
Come on Boycott, show you are a man of vision and get it done.
Let’s be honest
This is WFC
It’s nice to chat about it but nothing interesting or ambitious happens to us
We get American owners - but we get the long term planners with shallow pockets
We could be known as Walsall Park Avenue? Might be playing a club with a similar name on a regular basis the way things are going
