Happy with this

Ah, Colin Taylor. What a player he was.
I have never seen a player, at any level, strike a football as hard as he did. He had, , an absolute canon of left foot. They didn’t play with those light as a feather footballs we see today. The oldies will remember those heavy leather footballs with the laces, even heavier when wet.
Colin provided some great memories for me and I’m sure for any others. He remains my favorite player.

Along with Tony Richards mine too…as a youngster I did not realise how lucky I was to see them play. What a twosome and when we reached division 2 (the Championship today) the addition of Tommy Wilson at CF made us a very attractive team to watch. The excitement of those early matches against Sunderland,Derby and Newcastle will live with me for ever.

Give the kid some Poutine , a Beaver tail , a large double double and a Nanaimo Bar and he will be banging them in faster than Wayne Gretsky on a Saturday night in Edmonton .

I’ve no idea what that preceding sentence even means.

Some Canadian jibber no doubt!

Is a double double a quadrouple by any chance?:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s a very strong Canadian moonshine

Lots of good comments from Blades fans on his Twitter account. Seems to have been well liked and respected there.

Just had a reply from a friend of mine who is a lifelong diehard Blade and he says is skillful, always gives 100%, and is highly thought of around there.

Looks like a good signing for us at any level but great at the level we now find ourselves at.

Yes mine too David.
Was widely acknowledged throughout as having the hardest shot in the football league and i vividly remember a goalie saving a shot from him and shaking his hands immediately after.
What a character to have in your team.

Alex Stepney will vouch for that.

does anyone know what number Lavery is ??

I’m not sure DC goes in for marquee signings tbh.

If he isn’t No 9 I still expect a signing of the InTENT type that everyone is mentioning :joy:

Tony Macedo of Fulham said it was the hardest shot he ever faced .

I’m in that camp too, we all want that guy.

Shady,
I can’t imagine how hard Colin could hit a football we play with today.
Him and Richards were a one off, it’s a shame we will never see the likes of them again.
