Newport County (A) Monday April 21st, 12.30pm

Yes, should have been a red.

At the time it looked like a red to me and seeing it again, it definitely is a red I reckon

Highlights

Improved performance actually enjoyed watching us today, if we can’t get the points to achieve automatics, then hopefully we can see improved performances like today gives me more hope in the play offs.

Two big games left and still all to play for come on you Saddlers.

What a shock. Ref talk.

The offside was because there was a flick on in the box. He didn’t “guess” the handball, he got it right.

The red card is a stone waller. You can’t follow through like that it’s as simple as that.

Ironically the only one I agree with you on was the Simpkin one. But that’s a judgement call.

Ref chat. Boring as ever. Lot of ref chat since we’ve turned completely and utterly shite. Wonder why.

That’ll be nearly 2 months since the win happened. I think the performance today in isolation was fine, but in context we couldn’t have wished for a better chance of a win that we so desperately need. it’s just frustration rather than bile imo.

Just looked at the replay of the ‘goal’ and it takes the ref 23 seconds to even consider going over to the linesman. You’d think either the ref or the lino would have communicated if they had a suspicion of handball which it absolutely was. Bizarre.

The linesmans exact words if you watch it back “I think it’s handball”

He doesn’t know it’s handball, he thinks it’s handball.

So why not make a decision 15 seconds previously if he “thinks it handball”?

Would he have made the same decision had their player not appealed it?

Not saying the decision was wrong, but surely when making decisions, they have to be 100% sure?

Why would Russell Martin want to come here after the hassle the fans gave him.

Was going to say I don’t remember him leaving on the nicest note

I think I might have found something positive about today

We kept a clean sheet

I can’t believe people are struggling with basic conversation here, but one last try before I turn off boring ref talk for the night:

The ref gave a decision, he’s in a better position than the Lino. The Lino “thought it was hand ball” just like we all “think things” when we see them. Absolutely nobody is 100 percent sure on anything they see live. It’s impossible to be. So he thought it was handball, but at that point he thinks the ref is in a better angle.

The ref has gone over and asked for clarification because actually he couldn’t see from his angle. So it was deferred to the Lino, who “thought” he saw handball and was 100 percent correct.

It was the right decision. It really is that simple.

I agree. It really is boring to keep seeing these but he must have guessed. It was handball end of. If Mcentee had just headed it in from a yard out like he should have then no discussion needed.

Not sure why there’s a massive conversation about it when they got it right anyway.

He left because he didn’t like the commute from down South.

We have about as much chance of attracting Russell Martin as we have of getting Allardyce, which (I assume) was another tongue-in-cheek suggestion.

We all have to stick together and if we can get some form going into the playoffs, maybe our purple patch can be perfect timing.

If the loans can’t play and some of our long term injuries can play three games in the play offs, it might not be the worst thing in the world. I, for one, would love to see RAM get more game time, too, as a local lad (I know he plays for Eire) who has a real chance of being part of our future if we show him some love.

Remain positive and remember how young our squad is.

What have people got against Walsall?
Saying it’s karma because we always cheat

Let’s hope Accy get a man sent off so we can earn a deserved point.

Who said that? I reported on a rumour . I acknowledged the correct decision was reached in the end. However as the referee gave the goal and the linesman did not flag for an infringement it is a bit of a puzzle as to how the right decision was reached.

Id feel very comfortable Sadler would get another job, he has done a lot of good things and improved us. Obviously this run is horrible and bottling promotion won’t look good but compare him to matty Taylor who keeps getting jobs.
