After reflecting AGAIN on another draw against a bottom 6 side and 0 WINS IN 12 and ONLY 2 IN 19 and still some on here think we are going to win 2 IN 2 , get a grip we can’t win a football match at the minute we have forgot how to, at least yesterday we actually tried playing it on the deck rather than hoofing it anywhere and Chang certainly made a difference in thatand i would of started Barratt and played Nathan at LWB instead LG and is Harrison really that much better than DJ to get a game, onto the last 2 games with still a chance of going up how i don’t know after the 2 months we have witnessed, i just can’t see us winning a game UTS
2 draws and win the penalty shootout.
Except our home form is awful… we do appear more composed away. Sadler will settle for a draw away, we’ll lose 1-0, and get plundered at home trying to chase…
To round the season off perfectly, we’d score the first two, need one of the last three to go through, and miss the lot.
Btw I don’t think Asiimwe’s getting the hype he deserves which is understandable given the run we’re on, but he is a serious player at this level. Beats his man more often than not, very good crosser of the ball, good with both feet. Would love to see him back here next season but he’s easily league one standard.
He should start on the left against Accy instead of Liam Gordon who was awful again yesterday.
The kid is clearly shattered.
I agree, with Accrington coming for a point and no more I would play Barrett on the right and Asiimwe left.
Surely Chang and Hall both have to play from the start. Not sure on the box midfield as would prefer 2 up top at home.
With his right. He put some shockers in on his left, but his name isn’t Liam Gordon so we can all pretend they were amazing.
Deserves to play, but I’d rather have him in his actual position over Barrett, who was useless again when he came on without the excuse of tiredness.
Yep Barrett was poor.
Only other option is Adomah as a wing back.
Gordon has been poor for 2 months now - needs to be dropped.
Wasn’t the one for Alberts non-header, which was on a plate, with his left?
It was but having seen the highlights the shot he took in the first half should have been a cross to the unmarked players in the centre. I would probably start him instead of Gordon on Saturday though as Liam is out of form.
2 months
It was and so were the three he weakly passed to the first man. “Some”.
It was also a bit floated which didn’t help, still should have scored though.
When I got back to my room in the hospital yesterday the game was well over and in fact the 3 pms were coming to an end. Instead of looking at the result I logged into the match thread and followed that from kick off. The drama that unfolded at the end wasn’t reflected as much as in the extended highlights I’ve just watched. The fact that the celebrations of both the players and supporters being allowed to go on for so long must have been gutting for everyone watching / listening live, even though the right decision was made in the end. Glad for once that I didn’t have to experience that joy/despair in real time
Obviously the clue is in the name, but from the highlights, it seemed that Asiimwe was involved in so many of our better plays. The midfield looked so much better with Chang in there. Tommy played well (again).
And finally, Albert, Albert, Albert
I’ve never celebrated a goal more than that
The fan base accept it @philthesaddler
In fact they lap it up
There are some barmy buggers on here fully expecting us to win our next two even though we haven’t won in 12. Talking like there is no problem until the problem can’t be rectified.
Can we win the next two of course. Is it likley. No
Having looked at the replay, the sending off was very harsh, probably a yellow, but never a red, with Taylor Allen pretending to be injured in order to get a player sent off.
Simkin was very lucky indeed not to get a red and miss the last two matches of the season.
Quite honestly (i.e. I am not being contrary for the sake of it) I thought it was a foul on Simkin. He played the ball and got clattered. I agree about the sending off. It looked bad from one angle but not from others. Yellow, yes, but not straight red.
I didn’t think it was a red at the time.
Christ almighty
Yeah, absolutely clattered Simkins boot with the side of his face, the dirty f***er
As for the red, it’s as cast iron as you will see. Shin high contact (albeit very little, which is completely irrelevant in terms of the rules) with the second foot coming through. It’s not the 80s anymore.
I swear the reason we get so much boring ref chat is people’s awful interpretations of the rules and the game.
