How many more posts are you planning to make trying to justify Sadlers appointment?. Aren’t you bored of it by now

I’ll keep answering all the time someone keeps asking why, or telling he’d be a disaster without offering up a solution or an alternative.

Otherwise I’ll answer or debate if people just want to chew the fat over something topical while we’re all bored at work :man_shrugging:

I’m easy mate. It no big problem for me to debate with people.

Fair enough. I’ve heard that he will absolutely not be given the managers job so not much point trying to justify that he should be

No I agree. I’ve said several times I don’t think he will be given the job.

I’ve also simply said he would’ve been my preference, so when asked why I’ve answered as best I can.

Big announcement planned for 12.30.

I think if Trivela really want to show some intent we should be looking at at more successful mangers in work than those who are out of work .I would hope they would have identified such targets a long time ago even when Flynn was manager…any business worth its salt is constantly looked at future possibilities and people they would like in the business.it’s called a plan something we have sadly lacked

Cheap option !!

I think the defence is getting to its closing remarks as they say :wink:the summing up .be patient

I wonder if Dickie Dosh would be interested in coming back and sorting out all things football at WFC?

His experience as manager, player recruitment/development and running academies would be useful…

He also has American experience.

The trouble is that being a “good manager” is such a temporary thing. Of course, there are some really good managers and some really bad managers but, inbetween, I become increasingly convinced that success is cyclical and relies on everything happening to come together at once with a dash of luck thrown in. Someone regarded as a “good manager” one minute can, all of sudden, find himself out of a job with his reputation diminished, just because those particular circumstances change. Indeed, Flynn encapsulated that within one season! Up to Christmas, most were proclaiming him a genius and a top manager at this level and were praising the decision to get him to our club. A few months later and letters to the SLO were encouraged in order to get rid of him.

Absolutely this….because within a week or two he’s once again deemed a ‘good’ manager by a different set of fans……

Agree with everything you say absolutely and once you find that success at the level we are ,he’s tempted away by bigger clubs than us .hence you start the search again .that why it’s so important to build the sort of structure BB talks about in His letter .the manager is only a part of that structure .be it an important one at that .

Yes, it was a bit ropey, although the left winger, number 14 and JJ looked okay.

Spot on @ShropsSaddler

This is why sacking MF was too early for me. I get form and the ways we were playing was a major factor, but just think he had a plan of who to get rid of, targets in mind and not afraid to upset those who haven’t performed this season.
With that bit of luck, players with full pre season in them and less injuries, who knows …

Anyway we haven’t got a manager… :joy: And hope they sort it soon. We’re seeing all these players being released and I worry they’re going to be gone before we even identify them…all too slow a process from our board for me.

Great post that.

There are obviously good managers and not so good ones. There are lots that are in between and it makes you wonder how much of management is being in the right place at the right time.

That’s not trying to dismiss the importance of the manager but you have to think that Walsall has been the wrong place at the wrong time for managers for sometime now.

Literally everyone who has disagreed has told you why they don’t agree and have said some of the other rumoured targets are a better option (an alternative :+1:).

Here you go again though, going on as though you’ve made a case so strong for Sadler that nobody has reason to question or disagree with it

All I’ve heard from any dissenters is “no experience”.

It’s up there with any average 8 year old when asked why he doesn’t like veg and replies “cos I don’t”.

Tell me your preferred option and why and explain other than lack of experience why not Sadler?

This is getting boring… we will just have to wait and see who is revealed as the manager when club announce

The betting odds are back and Alexander is 1/2 favourite, don’t think anyone has a clue tbh
