Total cock-up. What evidence is their to support this? I’m not saying it may not end up being unsuccessful, but at least give it a chance.
All i’ve saw is opinions on MS being the wrong choice.
RO’K did all the graft and Sad’s stood doing nothing (which is the most ludacris one if you ask me).
Sad’s was the reason the club did so crap in the 2nd half of the past season.
He is too inexperienced.
He is the cheap option.
We’ve exhausted all avenues over the past 4/5 years with no success. Will this one work, who knows? But don’t write it off before it has even started.
This is Trivela’s first appointment, which by the sounds of talk coming from the club, was led by BB. Hopefully he has done his due diligence more than LP ever did.
A group of peoples opinions on here will be right and others wrong. But lets get behind someone who obviously has the club at heart and wants it to be successful instead of writing it off from the start.
I agree, i would imagine we had a couple of candidates decline our offer, probably on Salary and budget grounds. Sadler not necessarily the cheap option, more likely the only option
Emailed the club asking for a refund of my season ticket, like everyone I wish this is an inspired decision but what concerns me is this is russian roulette with our future considering how close we have been to dropping out of the league. In my opinion this is too risky a decision.
Reading comments on here the last few days has shown that none of the candidates in that list would have been unanimously welcomed. I personally didn’t want Deeney or Phillips(he seemed to need a massive budget in a semi-professional league) and comments on here about the others were along the lines of - would be Flynn mark 2, falls out with players, only managed in America which is like non-league etc, so there seemed to be draw backs with them all.
It doesn’t take 30 days to appoint a current first team coach/ interim manager.
Clearly he was a token entry on the shortlist, but once everyone else turned it down, they had no option but to appoint him.
This is the first time I have genuinely doubted Trivela’s intentions. Talk is cheap and so is this pathetic appointment.
If things don’t start well I hope the fans turn quickly, I certainly will and make no apology for it. And before anyone jumps on me for not giving him a chance (clap, clap, clap), I am frankly sick to the back teeth of being patient now.
I honestly dont know how I feel. I can tell you whatever it is though is probably a mixture of worry, disappointment and anger if im honest.
For me, and im on record saying it. Id of given Sads half a dozen games at the end of the season (Flynn should of gone for me 3 or 4 games before he did get the chop), just to test the waters and see what he is made of.
He got 3 games - an improvement in a fair few ways on the dross we’d been served up since new year. However, couldnt beat a 10 man Salford. Could of played all night at Crawley and wouldnt of scored. Then to top it off, beat a terrible Doncaster team (deservedly) in a batttle of the shite. An improvement in the way we played at times but nothing to warrant him getting the job full time IMO. How much was down to O’Kelly/new manager bounce etc we’ll never know.
Trivela had a chance here to make a statement of intent with this appointment and have failed miserably.
Will this get fans onside? - Not by the reaction on here and other platforms.
Will it sell season tickets? - Not a chance.
4 weeks for this to be announced
Ill be saving my money and Soccer Saturday will be on. Completely deflated and underwhelmed. I just want a shred of positivity to cling onto and i cant find one. Just want our Walsall back
Walsall fans thinking they wouldve known a more suitable candidate than the people who interviewed, researched, met and conducted a thorough process into all those that wanted the job……all while being unable to point to exactly who would’ve been better with constructive reasons why
