Nice interview
Walsall: ‘We were a team possessed’ says table-toppers’ boss Mat Sadler - BBC Sport
… although he gets Sadler and the W’don boss mixed up at the end of the article !!
Find this really bizarre I thought she was quite good, way better than some of the usual comms. God forbid a commentator talks though.
Gutted I had to work yesterday, managed to sneakily watch up until 60 mins, then headed for my train home and listened to the rest.
Couldn’t help but let out a cry as I was walking down the road when Lowe scored, glad no one was around
She’d be great on the radio boxing commentator perhaps .
Please dont say that. Josh Gordon is useless, gets more yellow cards than goals. Awful player.
You must be joking. Stirk is a solid 8/10 every single week.
What a great advert for league two football. A decent crowd with a brilliant away following.
Notts County deserved their half time lead which could easily have been more than a one goal lead.
That goal line clearance by Weir is one if not the best clearance I’ve ever seen, how he got to it I’ll never know but was an unbelievable moment.
The second half proved beyond a shadow of doubt what this team of ours are all about. MS made the changes and they proved to be very effective in fact county must have wondered what was happening as the improvement took us to a whole new level.
It’s vital that we keep this squad together throughout the rest of the season so over to you Trivela.
To be slightly controversial I can’t see why uncle Albert started upfront because he doesn’t seem suited to that role.
Days like yesterday and seasons like this one need to be savoured especially after the last few years. Blimey I’m absolutely loving it.
I don’t think that is remotely controversial!
For all of Crowleys nice touches and movement, I’m telling you now that Stirk was far more effective in possession.
Stirk is a bloody brilliant player at this level.
Stirk is far better than Comley in my opinion. Both fairly equal defensively but Stirk is better with the ball and sees a pass. Stirk reminds me a bit of Gareth Barry (obviously not as good), very calm on the ball and doesn’t make many mistakes.
Could, and would of been a lot more than that if County had given us the whole stand.
How much did it cost them for Mansfield to have the stand, surely they could of got the same revenue from us, I know it was new years day so could of added to the overall cost.
Brilliant outcome game wise, it had everything for me. County absolutely passed us off the pitch first half and we were lucky going in at half time only one behind.
The second half subs and formation change was a master stroke by MS, McEntee was immense ( can only think his brilliantly headed goal was cancelled out by Jamma fouling the other defender ) and Jamma was just what we’ve been privileged to witness so far this season, an absolute beast ( just think if we had signed Matty Stevens now as well, now he’s found his fitness too, playing as one of ours along side him ) Not saying I would have him over Lowe, but just incase he went back I mean.
Their manager gave a very unbiased and fair assessment of the game too, which is nice to hear instead of all these managers that lie through their teeth incase they lose their jobs.
Brilliant goal line clearance by Weir, if that was by a premiership player we would be seeing that over and over for days.
Agree with all of this @RedandWhite
I think Jamma fouled the number 5 for McEntee’s header but the goal scorer was 100% onside. And yet the linesman flagged and the referee signalled for an indirect free kick. Very odd.
I also thought the Notts County manager spoke very well in his post match interview. Cut from the same cloth as Sadler in terms of his temperament, even though their playing styles vastly differ.
Also interesting that their left winger Martin (who made Barrett look very poor) is on a short term contract which expires in January 2025. I don’t expect him to jump ship because Notts County look a very tidy team, but shades of Faal leaving Doncaster for Walsall last January window, perhaps?
Overall, I loved the game. As a neutral (which I’m not, but I was sat in the home end so I had to act like one) it was a fine football match.
I agree about their boss.
He possibly had more angles to suggest they’d been robbed yet didn’t go to the depths of the managers of our three previous vanquished teams.
Unlike those last three, if I was the County boss, I’d have seen enough in my team to encourage me for the rest of the season. The likes of Donny and Vale should be worried
Port Vale have achieved 3 points from their last 6 games … 3 out of 18 isn’t promotion form
(LDDLLD)
Bromley 2 up at Gillingham.I have to say that they are good at what they do.Absolutely horrible to play against.
The majority want Moore gone. They are currently 23rd in the form table over the last 6 games.
Makes our 2 all draw not a bad result now Scooby, that point could be the difference…(between 12 and 13 points clear of 2nd lol…)
Would it sound daft if I said that the last minute equaliser we scored against them was huge as regards keeping that unbeaten run and keeping confidence high. The way it was celebrated by the players suggested so to me personally.
