Player Of The Season 23/24

I think that he has missed Earing. He is also now a marked man. Even when he’s not ‘on it’, he always looks the most likely to have a positive impact.

I agree that he’s due a performance though…

Optimistic that he can thread in DJ for a late winner at the Keepmoat. I’m sure DJ scored an important goal there when Flynn was manager.

Scored the second in a two nil win towards the end of the game. Took it round the keeper, love those goals.

We will struggle to replace Hutchinson’s goal contributions, you just don’t see those kind of numbers from a midfielder that often.

Laughable comment and insulting to any player that’s played since Xmas and ground out some fantastic results home and away to take us to the brink of the play offs.

Oh sorry mr Clough, i forgot about the not having an opinion thing, being a professional football player is about giving your all over the season, not falling off over the last quarter

You missed my point….but I’m not surprised….

My point was it’s insulting to suggest any single player we have has given less than his all, all season.

We are where we are because every player has been fully committed to grafting pressing and sacrificing every single week.

Within that there will be some better games than others but it’s insulting to suggest ANYONE hasn’t been arsed.

Are you really telling me that you think that Hutch has looked like he has been 100% committed over the last few games? or do you think he has been 100% committed but just played poorly?

I think without question he’s been 100% committed. Without question.

I don’t think he was great Saturday but I don’t think he was poor either. I think he solid but unspectacular and missed those ‘moments’ that some think determine a great performance from terrible one with no in between.

I think he looked jaded and lacking a cutting edge.

However he created the most chances of anyone on the pitch, had the most shots, played the most key passes and had the second highest pass completion.

Had the keeper got his feet wrong like the Salford keeper for Faal, he’d have scored the first goal of the game and had Stirk been better he’d also have had the first assist too……I guess then he’d have been superman :+1:

I appreciate what Hutch can offer but i always pick my POTS on consistency right or wrong that’s Comley for me but i think Hutch will win it and I’ve no issue if he does.

I can buy into that.

I think Coms will get the Players Player for sure as I think the players will have always had an appreciation of what he does .

I’m ok with mr clough….

His wife said to him one night “God your feet are cold” to which he replied “it’s ok dear you don’t need to call me God when we’re in bed”:rofl:

I quite liked that :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Unfortunately I fear that I will miss the deadline for voting (whenever that is) in the Off The Line Blog Awards, as with 502 matches played so far in the division, I simply won’t have enough time to watch them all on catch up. If only I’d watched a couple of matches each day for the last eight months I’d have been up to speed and not having to panic. I don’t want to dive in unprepared and make any reckless mistakes, so probably best leave it. Lesson learned for next season though.

Keen to see what your opinion is tonight then mate - thoughts?

On what?

He wants you to say hutch is rubbish x

Of course he does.

He’ll ignore the fact that the post he quoted will be true again in that had the shot the keeper saved gone in and we were 1-0 up he wouldn’t be asking.

And he’ll ignore my general thoughts on the game in the match thread too.

Not necessarily buddy - just want to know your views on tonight’s performance from Hutchinson - let me know

Pots hutch your havin a tin baff
