Port Vale (A) Dec 7th, 12.30pm k.o

No idea about the score or match that day, i went into that off license about 4 or 5 miles from the ground if you remember, then had a couple in their supporters club as we fleeced the home support for donations in the bucket  to be fair the Vale fans and old bill were extremely generous and added a good chunk to the pot. No idea about the match though, blurred memory, nowt new in those days :rofl:

Exactly.

Glad there was no trouble !

Thing is you can never give a 100% call on a forward view of the shot, it definitely needs a side view for a decision to be called correct or not imo

Just had 20 mins looking at the Vale forum. It does remind me a lot of on here. You get your moaners who seemed to almost enjoy losing and calling for the managers head, then you get your guys who are always glass half full.

I don’t know the Vale situation well enough but it does seem they are on a downward spiral (results and performances) and Moore has started to make strange decisions and long may all that continue. :joy:

Absolutely. The angle of that view leaves it just as questionable as before. Either way, Gordon won the game for us with that intervention as there would have been no doubt about it had the ball hit the net

Thank goodness the linesman wasn’t Russian.

Yesterday was EPIC for many reasons. Yes we beat Vale (again and as usual), yes we jumped over them to take top place… but for me the most important statement we made yesterday after nearly a decade of dross was weyam walsall and we’m back. Great to actually being proud and believing in the team again . Horrendous conditions for both teams but there was only one team and one side of the ground that was up for it. Up there pushing top 10 of my all time fave away days. Walsall ay we

If the line person is not sure he can’t give it, works both ways.

No where near in good 5 yards the right side of the line

How good do these Monday mornings feel after a weekend like that!? Proud to be a saddler.

There was one last season that was over the line but we got away with it because Priestley was blocking the view. Personally, and honestly, I did not think this one crossed the line, not that it matters now. Also, Stockley appealed but there was not much fuss from anyone else. A brilliant piece of work from Gordon; nobody seems to keep stats on these things but that was as good as a goal.

I thought the ref was more or less OK. He did teach Allen a lesson by refusing to give free kicks in his favour after Allen had got upset about a decision but, apart from that, he seemed about as fair as you get.

Just watched this and about 25 seconds in you see, Big Dave, H and Tayls together. Made me think that when we singed these 3, who’d have thought they’d be our back 3 at the top of the league. Didn’t Taylor come to us as a LW/LWB? Dave’s confidence keeps growing. Williams just looks so calm and assertive. All 3 a testament of giving young players a chance and good recruitment. A real credit to the club. UTS.

Another angle of the goal won’t hurt will it? Thought it was a howler by the keeper when I first seen it but not too sure looking at it from this side.

People were happy with Williams signing because he had a good trial spell.

Okagbue, the majority were happy, but there were a few that didnt think he was any good. Been unbelievably good in the last few months.

And Allen, could have easily been let go when he was out of contract.

All three have developed incredibly in such a short space of time.
