Prediction League 2018/19

Don’t get too apologetic. You’re both doing better than me. :disappointed_relieved:

I’m compulsive and obsessive - but it’s simply an excuse to act like an arse. Don’t overthink anything, it’s a huge wedge of luck with a slice of best guesstimates and magic runes.

There are a certain number of useful tips, but not that many, such as not going for too many 4-3 away wins. Certain seasons are more predictable than others, but it’s a huge laugh.

I think you do yourself a diservice. Raw luck might give you a single,or even a few good seasons . but not get you challenging year on year.

I agree it’s a great laugh.

Look for home wins, form teams and never choose a Walsall match…from then onwards it’s guesswork! (Or in @matt_saddlesore 's case - plagiarism!

One of the things I had to learn is that it’s not like betting. When betting you’re always looking for an outlier. With this it doesn’t matter so much. You get the same points for predicting top beats bottom,as you do for bottom beats top.

The most. Important thing is to remember to enter every week , miss a few weeks and your out of the running straight away

Don’t I know it! I’m a regular at the top of the points per round played table.

It must be the time zone , this year I would be top by a massive 0.3 points if I had simply played every round , Matt indeed would be saddle sore, Johnny wouldn’t be jolly ,the Hass would be the office junior and we’ll Morty would simply be Morty but unfortunately the memory late on a Saturday evening often isn’t what it should be the prediction league gets forgotten and I wallow down in 25th place thinking what could have been. Ho hum

Stupid game anyway …

:rofl::rofl::clap::clap: very good

even with the " t he" :joy:

Yeah I know. Auto correct kept shunting a space in when I tried to retype the so just gave up after 3 goes!!!

Tee hee…

IF

It must be one of the most irrelevant made up ‘stats’, apart from detailing who the most forgetful predictor is. :grinning:

“My points per game is higher than yours, IF I’d have predicted all the games I’d have more points.”
“IF. So what, you didn’t predict, so … shrug, we’ll never know.”

And it’s not as if it’s hard to check nowadays, what with 24 hour internet access and all. It’s hardly a random occurance.

Internal dialogue, is it something like this? :slightly_smiling_face::wink:

What day is it? Don’t know. Find out.
It’s Saturday. Are Walsall playing? Yes.
Is anyone else playing? Yes, it’s a full schedule.
Is there anything else you need to do? No.
Are you sure? Yes.
Positive? I have to empty the bin.
FFS. OK.

Later …

I forgot to predict!!!
FFS.

I have never once failed to predict in 13 years, sometimes hanging around internet cafes at ungodly hours, sometimes badgering complete strangers on the street, sometimes phoning colleagues to log in on my behalf and post my predictions, sometimes begging people on alternative media for their assistance, sometimes … etc etc. :sunglasses:

Some of us clearly have busier lives. And drink more. And live in different time zones.

Glad you can stop the world every time you want, though. You must be so proud.
