Retro Kits in the Store

It is nice to see a proper themed marketing shoot rather than some shoddy photos.

That yellow “sign specialist” one just brought back some bad memories.
I always associate the green and white square kit with Ade Viveash’s scoring run in 96/97, on a par with the strange Deen Peer one a few years earlier.
I’ve still got all my old kits apart from the banned Forest away one and the home kit from 95/96 both of which were lost in relationship disintigrations (so probably burned).
I reckon I can still just about get into my Jan Webster 85 yellow away kit although I last wore it at Wembley. Might have to go on a diet for its 40th.

As someone said the red and blue one was more claret and blue, I played in that original kit used by the team in a charity match years ago. Can see on the promo vid that it does look more claret and blue than in the photo though.

The check one was green and white, but maybe it’s like that online photo a few years ago that went viral where half the people saw it as gold and half the people saw it as black/blue.

I love these.

Remember the sponsor peeling off the blue and black one.

As a youngster I was mad on the Barcelona stripped shirt. I think it was the first season with the new badge, shop had opened in town and we had been promoted under Big Chris.

Yellow one reminds of Crewe away, a night game. Andy McLaughlin (striker on loan from Wolves I think)

Wonder if the Club has seen the success of the ISSA products and jumped on the bandwagon

Next shirt I’d like to see is … red and black chequered shirt

Yes we were there that night, Masinga, rest his soul, scored hs hat-trick when being brought on in extra time if i recall.
Remember the floodlights mysteriously going off during the game and the players having to leave the pitch after Killer had broke through twice, and should of scored tbh, how much of that was to rip the Leeds players a new a hole in the dressing room…

And we brought David Mayhew on. I don’t think he got a single goal for us.

Think I have sorted the colours out

Yet you forgot to change it to “Home”.

And get that claret and blue shit off!

Can you sort those jeans out into a skirt :joy:

I picked up an original of the green and white chequed shirt with Evans on the back for about £15 before retro kits took off and became really expensive.

I think my whole torso could fit in one of the sleeves!

I would love to get my hands on the red and black home one.

Anyone know if the sizing is like the errea shirts or more normal?

I remember the retro kits they did a couple seasons ago came up smaller. I went for a size bigger for these when I ordered last night.

Look at. The badge on the hat looks very much like a villa crest.
Moles parting shot maybe lol

It is the Villa badge on the hat. This year for some reason they have turned the lion around to face away from the chest. No idea why mind.

Anyone have any ideas on the sizing on these kits

I’ve just realized @BornASaddler edited it.

Lol. Apologies to Walsall fc. I should pay more attention.

He’d had a decent career with Brizzle for a few years, and he seemed like a good signing as he was about 26 or 27 years old. I’m not sure if there was an injury problem but he did nothing for us and moved into non league I think.

I appriciate the effort. Our gear is getting decent but wtf are they doing with their pricing? £40 for a fancy t shirt?
It probably cost a 5a to make and deliver.

I just did a GoCompare on one of our rivals who have rich owners who are not looking for a return to pay investors other than themselves. Their homeshirt ( anything above Medium ) is £ 54.95
