Retro Kits in the Store

Point I was trying to make, thank you for answering it Joe :+1:t2:

I’d like to think that the club’s strategy wouldn’t be that Machiavellian. However, I was unsure and undecided when they first went on sale. The moment I saw they were sold out and that the demand must’ve been high, I was devastated. Fast forward a few moments later when I heard that they were still in stock, I was straight in my car and down the club shop.

Irrespective of their intention, it worked on me like a charm! Who knows… maybe there is some merit in what you are saying.

Retail is all psychology.

I heard Dan Mole took them all in the boot of his car when he left! (Not really, if the libel lawyers are looking in).

Just been in the shop managed to get the ones I wanted, there are still a few left .
Spoke to the guy in there he said the interest and sales have exceeded all expectations.
Got to be a positive.

OR…they could be totally insensitive to fans feelings…and/or… totally incompetent when it comes to running a shop with a customer base who don’t really need to be persuaded to buy their products…you decide.

What you say is technically true; they could simply not be arsed or unable to perform fairly basic mathematics, or both. I personally have a hard time buying that.

First time the club shop has had anything half decent in for a long time, they’re used to the demand for utter dog shit, so no wonder sales of these were higher than expected.

Green and white check sold out in L and XL with no more stock to follow BUT I was told that additional Retro shirt designs are coming in soon just trying to decide on which ones and then it will be announced … might just save my cash for the shirts rather than the away days, although have sorted both Alfreton and Notts County this week, so the self inflicted pain for me and my son goes on !!!

Which will just make you want to buy it all the more, according to your logic.

Can’t handle the volume of online sales …. Or aren’t sure of the stock they have in relation to demand so taken off line so they don’t end up emailing folks to say ā€œsorryā€

Which is crazy this day and age. With the whole world employing the tactics of drop shipping, i dont understand why you cant get a small batch UK based manufacturer who could make the shirts with KPIs of fulling a given order in a given time, send each shirt for each order. Its not like 1000s will go out the door.

An example of a good idea, shitly executed using old fashioned outdated thinking. Thats the club in a nutshell.

Isn’t there a merchandising partnership to this effect in place with ā€˜The Terrace’? I’m sure the 93/94 home shirt was released through/with them.

Not sure. But it literally could be anyone. Theyre making it under licence for the club.

The shirts are branded Terrace

God it’s depressing looking at some of those. Even the 1992 93 yellow 4th division one. I thought those initial Bescot seasons were a low point. God.
How wrong I was. The likes of Marsh, ntmark, Ryder and Keister wore that shirt and gave everything for the club and were so much better players. Begs the question how many of this current crop are really worthy of playing for Walsall fc

Oh dear…

@JoaquinErnesto you must love these times in Division 4. Happy you are getting the fan experience you deserve.

Anyone been to the club shop today? Many left in stock in there?

We went in at 5:30 ish and there wasn’t much left. 5/6 of each on the shelves and they said minimal under the counter. The sizing however is worse than the current kit. I’m a Large in the Errea but had to get a 2xl in these to fit.

The manager did say that there should be another 2 designs out in the next month or so…
