Rochdale (H) - Friendly, Fri 21st July, 7:30pm

Dear God. I don’t think I can stand much more of this roundabout bickering.
The season hasn’t started yet and already the squabbles are in full swing.
Can the main culprits , you know who you are , just pause before firing off another “ no I’m not you, you are “ response.
It’s a match thread but I can’t even find the result on here :man_shrugging:t3:

Suspended for two games, not sure if the cup game against Blackburn would count as one.

Of course……despite popular perception using the extreme one off cases……this is quite normal for a player his age…and experience.

I imagine the staff will have a keen eye on helping him improve because he’s a) our most productive player and key to any success and b) realistically our most salable asset.

He got a straight red in his last game for Drogheda. Straight red so my understanding is a 3 match suspension. He sat out one match and then his loan was terminated, so I think he has two games left to serve.

Sat next to a nice lady and family with her son Jackson Smith in tile choice stand at the match tonight our new keeper signed today .real nice people a pleasure to meet them all .

Let’s see him start a few games with DJ.

Him and DJT just isn’t going to work as a combo so hopefully don’t see that starting games in the league.

Gutted, probably give him 90 mins against Solihull then keep him match fit before he serves his suspension. Very impressed with him tonight good recruitment by the club to identify him and sign him

I thought Rochdale looked sharper than we did for the most part tonight. I suspect they have played a couple more pre season matches than we have.

Farquharson was impressive. Draper looks a real handful and genuine goal threat.

Liked the look of Draper, fresh and hungry for goals. Stirk looked at home, may be able to find a few killer passes going forward. I actually thought Knowles did well in that role, good first touch on him.
Matt was Rochdale’s best centre back. :upside_down_face:

Most importantly a good effort from the club for a great player and man. RIP Wayne. :innocent:

Thanks.
Of course the lack of owls didn’t help :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Was just going to post exactly what you’ve said people slating Matt he thrives on consistent service from decent wing backs don’t give it him and he will look poor this needs addressing me and a few others can see it and saw it before this game

Well there were 53 hiding

Hopefully there will be highlights, missed the hutchinson goal

Unless we recruit someone with the delivery of Beckham no service will be good enough for Matt. He’s still being pipped to the ball by centre halves when coming short

He’s won a few flick ons

Generally over two games it looks like a continuation of last season.

3rd choice striker hopefully

He was shocking

He was poor

Rochdale were much better than us first half but 2nd half i thought we played well. Draper has deffo put himself above DJT in the pecking order for striker alongside DJ. Wingbacks are crucial to our system, Gordon and Knowles must hit the ground running at Morecambe. Matt needs service from wide if he gets it he will come good and score goals at this level.

Well done mate. for those who didn’t go to night and want a fair assessment of the game and don’t want to listen to the prejudice bickering .or those that look through rose coloured spectacles read the above post .spot on .I was there .we’re still 3 quality players short of a decent side is all I’d add .

Who’d have thought it eh….the recently turned 23 year old who’s played one full season found it tough going against the 34 year old with 320 championship appearances and 30+ premier league game under his belt…

Weird that one. Shocked he managed to find time and space to score the only goal…and make the keeper make the only other two saves he had to make
