Taking it back on topic, how did Rollin play on Saturday?
Meanwhile in PyongyangâŚ
Looked pretty good to me - like most of our defenders did individually. Obviously as a unit they need a bit more time together and a few competetive games under their belt to find the optimum CH and full back pairings, but they were only breached once by a forward line 3 divisions above us so theyâve already made a good start.
Just going by Saturday, I wouldnât be unhappy to see Rollin as a starting CH but I also have confidence that we have depth in quality as well as quantity so could be directly replaced by any of several other choices without the âwithout him weâre buggeredâ sinking feeling weâve sometimes had previously when weâve had to switch from our first choice players.
When I worked in Cradley Heath Iâm sure they spoke a version of old English.
We had a fitter back in the day who lived Dudley way, always moaning, but didnât swear but every thing was god. This god job, these god bolts, etc etc
Didnât matter until one day that he was told we had a job for him in Godmanchester ( cambridgeshire) and to be on site at 08;00 the next day
You can guess where he went
Used very much in Gornal and Brierley Hill, along with âgainâ, meaning handy or useful.
He did Ok in my view. Certainly he will be in contention for a regular place in the team if he can carry that form into future matches.
I was very worried about his passing too be honest. Hope its just a bedding in thing but need to maybe see a replay of the game somewhere to see if it was just me because it certainly felt like it. Big standouts was the new keeper and the young Maher. Not sure if he was here last season but he was worthy of pitch time in front of bloody Yaw and others.
I wasnât too worried about his passing to be honest.Certainly there were some misplaced ones but his overall play was ok. Agree about the goalie and Maher but I thought Ash Taylor did well both as captain and CH.
What number was Maher
Maher is the Jack Grealish wannabe with the Alice band @clawtheolder.
Iâm just jealous though because the days of my long hair are long gone now (turned into my dad!)
Maher is another Irishman by the way. Good job we have green on our shirts.
Maher looked good, very technical. Reminded me a little of when I first saw Jamie Paterson play. Anyone know how old he is or his background?
Heâs 16
Agree, Mayer had a great cameo, I was really impressed, I was scrambling to find out who he was. He looked young and Iâm sure will bulk up.
Understand he came through the youth set up at WBA but has been at Walsall since u14 level. Also played for the Independent Schools team.

Looks like the lad has invested his life into being a professional footballer. Fair play to him.
I know people often joke about how young some of our players look but this takes the biscuit!
I didnât know he is only 16!
Alan Buckley is looking at that photo and thinking âbit too big for a midfielder, that ladâ.
