Ronan Arjun Maher (RAM) - 2025

Simkin hasn’t been called up

Comley? Gordon?

I’m sure either Montserrat or Guyana aren’t playing, but either way, the game will be off I’m sure.

It’ll be a bit of blessing if so in my book

And it was a worldie. I really hope that he gets a chance for Walsall next season.

So would I, but isn’t that very unlikely?

First, Sadler would have to offer a tempting contract to a player he does not rate.

And then RAM would have to accept the offer, but why would he want to stay at Walsall with a manager who does not rate him, and has not given him much chance to show what he can do over the past two years.

Surely he is more likely to look for offers from managers who are likely to put him in the first team - probably in League Two, rather than where we will (hopefully) be, League One.

I understand your argument but I am hoping that in league one:

Bigger crowds means bigger budget and bigger squad depth.

Sadler will gain confidence from a promotion and Maher will be a year older and stronger.

I think that we will need more variety in our play in league one: the manager has played various players in midfield and Maher likes to cut in from the left.

I also think that league two is very physical and league one is slightly more tactical. Hopefully, the standard of officiating is also marginally higher, too.

One thing I’ve noticed is that we rarely get penalties. When we had Paterson and Brandy in league one, Grigg scored a lot of penalties and we actually had players prepared to make dribbles into the box at speed.

I think that Maher has a bit of Pato and even Jack Grealish about him. The Irish connection with our squad also makes me think that Maher will hang about. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Drogheda, on loan, at some stage.

Apologies for applying a bit of logic on UTS, but if Mat doesn’t rate Ronan, why send him on loan to play competitive football, why not just keep him in the background doing nowt?
Mat or the club obviously rate him thus his playing higher up the chain at Tamworth, which appears to be a master stroke.
As for calling him back whilst doing well there, I’ll raise you a certain Mr Lowe to see how that worked out all round…

Another superb performance by Ronan Maher, topped off by a wonderful goal saw him once again earn his spot in the Non-League paper Team of the Day. 🗞️

Not so great when it comes to defending though very weak physically I think it’s Ronan Dagenham player waltzed past when they hit the post .
Fairy on a gob of lard comes to mind .

He will simply not fit into our style of play. I think the lad has something about him. Creative, can pick a pass and has an eye for a goal. He’d be perfect in a 4231 formation. Got a bit of Pato about him :ok_hand:

This is what I have said before. He isn’t a center midfielder, or at least not good enough to play in our midfield. So where do we fit him in?

What position is he playing now?

Shame really, but I just don’t ever see him fitting into Sadler’s set up.
