Every player deserves a chance and I’ll be supporting him but on paper it’s not exactly inspiring is it

No it isn’t particularly inspiring.
Let’s give this guy a chance. Things ain’t going to plan and we must stay calm and carry on. We have a pretty mediocre bunch of players and surely the aim this season is just to consolidate and stop the rot. UTS!

They’ve told us what their aim is and they are missing by a ■■■■■■■ mile. Clarke should have “stopped the rot” when he got rid of an entire squad and brought his own in. I don’t know why people are so desperate to make excuses to be honest. Past managers would have been crucified.

I think it’s because fans are sick to death of crucifying managers, if we do it to DC this will be the third on the trot, and fans on here are probably a bit reticent because they would be derided by other members.

And given longer than 6 games. I remember a time when people were slagging off leahy and you were defending him despite what everyone could see with their own eyes after more than a season. clown

Of course Pomlett and Clarke are going to big up our chances: but do you really believe we are going to get promoted with the players we’ve got? We look weak at the back and short in midfield. As for our strikers, Lavery is the only one who looks like he can score. We’ll finish in the bottom half with this squad unless there is a major change in tactics and formation.
Happy with gaffney signing experienced pro who seems to be well thought of by Salford fans
Really need a more creative midfielder now who likes to drive his team forward.

Not sure what type of striker Gaffney is, targetman or another who runs the channels.
He’s been playing in league 1 for the last few years, only dropped down to non league because Salford probably gave him a hefty pay rise.
Him and Lavery could be a good pairing, need more just behind them though.

I would love to see Gaffney and Lavery up front with Gordon and Adebayo on the wings, now that would be an attacking formation 
At least competition for places might bring about a bit of urgency. I think Gordon needs to step up now because he is in last chance saloon. I also think that Rose deserves an opportunity in goal against Coventry in the cup because we need something to click. Burnley had a similar start last season but then began to click. We might have to grind out an ugly 1-0 win off someone’s knee to reverse the slide but I remain optimistic that we’ve got the right gaffer to get the best from Gaffney.
