What truely is amazing to me after watching another Sadler master piece,is our total inability to defend.
Considering our man in charge used to be a defender you would think this would at least be our one strong point.
My heart is literally in my mouth every time the ball comes into our box.
We cant defend for toffee, and now the drought is starting up front.
Hate to say it ,but we look to be in big trouble
Itâs just not working out is it. Yet another wasted season in the bottom half of League 2. No progress on the past few seasons, if anything weâve regressed. Donât dislike Sadler but I question whether he is the type of leader that some of these players need right now.
Weâve been circling the drain to the NL for so long, you just feel relegation will come at some point. We may well have reached that point.
Dancing Kev supported by Billy Bescot. Both should be attainable for our ambitious owners and will do a better job than not so Super Sadler!
And Sumo as our new fitness coach
The only focus is to stay in the league now.
I wish there was a long term plan but all the seasons just turn out to be the same disappointment and then scrambling in the winter to keep away from the bottom places.
I have no confidence at all in Sadler getting this side 10 + points away from bottom 2. The gap at least is 6 points so please act now while thereâs still reasonable distance.
Still got people on this forum expecting to finish above Swindon because they think Flynn is the worst manager in existence so Iâm afraid expectations are going to have to be vastly reduced in next few weeks as I canât see many wins at all now Draper has stopped scoring.
I said I didnât care earlier, and still donât much tbh, but the decision on his future is looking clearer by the day.
Sadler has a defence that canât defend, a midfield that gets overrun and out fought with ease and thinks Matt and DJT are better forward options than DJ.
Was going to say heâs lost the plot but then that would imply he ever had it to begin with.
Waste of time appointment, again.
Waste of a season, again.
I renewed this season, again, against my better judgment but canât be arsed going anymore.
Iâd have been angry a few years ago but itâs just a sense of fatigue with the club now.
After Notts County would be an o.k time to make a change imo. Plenty of home games coming up in next two months and a run from NYD of Grimsby away and then 3 of the next 4 being at home of Morecambe (FA cup permitting), Accrington and Sutton feels a good chance for another manager to get some wins to move back firmly into mid table.
No post match interview, promising.
But i did say that after the FGR game
Didnât Stevenage appoint Steve Evans when they were second bottom two years ago?
Gillingham appointed Neil Harris 12 months back when they were 92nd.
Try to gauge interest of someone like Steve Cotterill and take things from there. Perhaps he would rather stay managing at league 1 but those two managers above dropped down into league 2, Harris was managing in the championship play offs as recently as July 2020.
Iâm not disagreeing with anything else youâve said, you make some fair points and I get that emotions are highâŚ..
But honestly, after tonight Iâll be shocked if you ever see DJ in a Walsall shirt again. He was that uninterested.
Matt and DJT werenât great but at least they tried! Matt played 24 minutes to DJs 54 and DOUBLED his contributions!!
If one thing comes out of tonight it should be this nonsense about DJ stops.
Yeah I donât mean certain names are unrealistic due to our league position, more that some are unrealistic due to the league weâre in full stop! They simply wouldnât manage in league twoâŚunless theyâre assured of the biggest budget in it!! Which isnât gonna happenâŚ.
Primarily because Barrow sat off during those last 20 minutes and we started going even more direct straight into Matt, itâs inevitable that he got more involved.
DJ and Draper didnât have a kick, but we know they can score goals at this level. Whereas, at the end of this season Matt will be retired and DJT will be released and starting again somewhere in the non-league pyramid.
I certainly donât think DJ is the answer to our problems, but weâre at the stage now where we desperately need to find a way of getting the most out of our two best strikers. Might be worth trying the system that we actually recruited for?
Post match interview pathetic! Blamed it on the pitch ffs
Praying (and extremely wishful thinking) that Deano would do it to sort of âfinish what he startedâ albeit at a lower level. After all he started witht he great escape didnt he?
I also doubt he needs the money.
However, realistically:
Cowleys or Cotterill.
Completely disagree Sadler has sucked the life out of DJ . No wonder he is so demoralized.
Cowleys were on verge of taking over at Bradford so I wouldnât rule them out completely compared to the other two you mention Thanny.
Bit random they turned up to that game v Franchise a few weeks ago. Perhaps they just wanted to take in a match but seemed an odd choice.
Yeah fair enough there is a case for saying they sat off a bitâŚIâm not sure if that made much difference to be honestâŚI genuinely felt that Matt in particular simply just worked harder and put himself about more and probably shouldâve scored.
Like it or not DJ literally didnât want to be there when the game was in the balance.
We actually started ok. But both him and Draper gave away needless free kicks and even when it was played up to them it either bounced off or they didnt move an inch to make the ball even a little better than it was.
I donât think both were subbed because he felt the two coming on were more likely to score, I genuinely feel he took them off because he was angry with them.
You need to shift the blame from DJ to Mat Sadler.
Do you honestly think this is good enough and it will change ?
