"A Salford life’s too near the bone to lose things through the fear of speaking out"
(“Hobson’s Choice” by Harold Brighouse)
This may well be a brief preview as I’m not in the best of health at the moment!
Salford City are a mere 2 points adrift of the play-off zone, so they do have everything to play for from their 8th position, 4 points above Chesterfield, their nearest challenger.
Current League 2 form…
29th December Morecambe (H) Won 1-0
1st January Harrogate (A) Won 0-2
4th January M K Dons (A) Won 0-1
18th January Fleetwood (H) Lost 0-2
25th January Cheltenham (A) Lost 2-1
28th January Newport (H) Drew 1-1
We won’t dwell on the exit from the F A Cup (8-0) at the hands of Manchester City…
No new signings for the Saddlers at this time, so Mat Sadler has to juggle the members of the squad who are injury-free and disease-free - which could be quite a headache. Will Jamma be able to be called upon? Is Jamie Jellis now fully fit? Has Ethan Wheatley been able to absorb enough of the required tactics to fit in with his team-mates?
All these questions (and more) will be answered on Saturday as we revert to the traditional kick-off time of 3pm. As our lead at the top has now been cut to 9 points we should take note of what the chasing pack are doing, and on Saturday it is good to see that Bradford City are at AFC Wimbledon, while the other Milton Keynes lot travel to Doncaster.
Prediction? It has to be a bounce back from the 2 defeats recently suffered, and hopefully a reverse of our most recent fixture will see a 2-0 home win…
Sorry to hear this Welsh, hope you’re feeling better very soon.
Really need a bounce back after our two recent defeats, and there’s no better team to get one over than these mongrels.
I never predict where we’re concerned … so as above, we need a bounce.
PS. Would be great with a NORMAL kickoff time if we could get a few more through the turnstiles and get behind the lads, we need everyone pulling together.
Good preview and get well soon welsh
Result more important than the performance just to bring confidence levels up slightly for players and supporters. Would be great to get both though 2-1 nail biting win for me will do.

Get well soon Welsh, your previews are one of the highlights of this site!
I suspect this will be a rare 0-0 and a subsequent melt down. Boos at full time and a player arguing with the one bloke in the main stand who loses his sh*t at Sadler getting carried out.
