I agree with @el_nombre about his assessment of Liam Gordon: he is a fine player.
It is worth pointing out that, at 25, he is a relatively experienced pro in our very young team.
For instance, Ethan Wheatley looks like a boy in men’s footballer (not surprisingly) because he is 19.
Okagbue turns 21 on Tuesday and without listing every player, we have a VERY YOUNG team.
Albert Adomah has been an amazing signing and listening to Jamma on commentary yesterday (I couldn’t attend the game unfortunately) he is so clear-minded, erudite and assured.
Hopefully, we can overcome a challenging period of the season (losing your first choice striking pair would affect any side) but that togetherness matters so much.
I know that @Stretch and @Andy_Petterson don’t always agree but a forum should allow for different viewpoints - that’s the whole point!
As a final point, the American football team I follow is the Las Vegas Raiders. After a dreadful season, they’ve gone with a 73 year old coach called Pete Carroll. In early interviews, he has emphasised two major factors needed: compete and be a good team mate.
“In order to have a good team, you need to be a good teammate - it’s that simple.”
My personal view is that Sadler has fostered that sense of togetherness and I am very proud of my football club and the players wearing the shirts are all putting a shift in.
Win, lose or draw, that’s what I expect: compete, work hard and entertain your supporters and feel proud to represent the Super Saddlers.
Regardless of how posters express it, it is abundantly clear that we have some passionate supporters who care deeply about the club and I think that’s awesome.
