Absolutely spot on
Probably got lost driving from Whitmore Reans to the Custard Bowl. They ain’t the brightest.
Exactly this. That’s why he’s playing in League Two.
Yes. More often than not. Then it begs the question why forwards dont take a gamble and head for that zone. It’s what Lineker used to do very well.
I can’t imagine Levi, Matt or Gordon dashing across the 1st defender and getting to it first to be honest
A lot of the time the cross hits the first man no where near the goal either.
I’m sure some clubs will be looking at that deficit in his game and thinking they can coach it better - but he’s not improved that in 2 years since being here.
Compare the deliveries of Jellis, Barrett, Weir and Adomah this season to Tom Knowles and it goes some way to account for our greater points tally this season.
As are literally all of our players
I thought Jellis was much, much better in the second half, more like his usual self.
One more point on yesterday’s game. Tommy’s save was one of the best ever I’ve seen live
Earlier in the season it was Barrett’s job to get across the front defender. However teams have become wise and the run has been blocked so it isn’t always poor delivery (but yes sometimes it is)
We just need to change the play book up sometimes
Read my post. 2nd defender. Also your response didnt warrant a hysterical emoji. It wasn’t remotely funny.
reminded me of Gordon Banks’s save in the Mexico World Cup when Pele seemed destined to score. Of course Stockton is no Pele
Sense of humour bypass again.
I think you are incorrect. Gordon’s crosses largely don’t get pass the first man, and a bit of a cop out to blame it on the strikers.
Hysterical emoji
It was a phenomenal save and drew gasps from the members of the audience around me, one was literally agog for a good few minutes after the save. We’re incredibly lucky to have Tommy Simkin as our number 1.
It was a top save no doubt about that
Liam Gordon has been fantastic for us, a constant reliable performer. Has he got absolutely everything? No. Does he have his weaknesses? Yes, but this is League Two and all of our players have their weaknesses so I’m not sure why we’re trying to pick the faults in one.
Some people just like picking faults whilst some of us simply emphasise the positives…me included!.
Stockton is slightly better than Pele … No doubt it was a brilliant save…great comparison
We are extremely lucky imo. It was a truly amazing save. If that was in the premier league they would be playing it over and over again. Magnificent Tommy
I read this “We’re lucky to have” all the time.
I don’t think we have ever been lucky to have a player, ever.
We went out and signed them, every other club had the same opportunity to do so.
