Cheers will tryšŸ‘šŸ»

Be good if we could all get together tomorrow for pre match beverage’s

Going to give you all a loff, my wife is a lovely girl, she spent a few hundred quid on me this xmas, a couple of stone island tops and a pair of handmade shoes, so as we are in Salford tonight it was the first time I have worn them, but as we walked out of the hotel tonight the shoes were killing me, to the point that when we got back I was crippled with pain, but because I knew how much she paid for them I hadn’t got the balls to tell her that they were to small, but I knew after wearing them all night she couldn’t send them back, so as I took them off I realised that I had left all the cardboard still in them :grimacing::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Now sorted, spoken to Tom heslop tonight (he inboxed me on Twitter) and fair play to him gone above and beyond to make sure I’m sorted tomorrow and that he’s got my tickets! I know a lot of people are keen to criticise (sometimes rightly so) but on this occasion credit where credits due

For those who are going into the city centre for a quick medicinal before the game …

The X43 bus that goes close to the Salford ground has a stop on Princess Street just to the south of St Peter’s Square (to one side of the town hall) which is on the direct tram route between Piccadilly and Salford Quays. Just a few yards to the north, on the corner of Princess St and Fountain St, there is a slightly better class of Wetherspoons called the Waterhouse. This has a feature you find with several Manchester pubs - front and back entrances on 2 different streets - and right next door at the rear is one of the best real ale pubs in the city, the City Arms. And right next door to that is is the Vine Inn. And about 50 yards further up Fountain St is a sports bar called the Directors Box which will be showing the early kick off cup game.

So there you go - 4 decent watering holes within a 1-2 minute walk of the tram/bus-to-ground stops.

Just a brief note for those driving up tomorrow (today), the M6 between J12 and J15 (Gailey to Stoke South) is an absolute nightmare. Between Stafford South and Stoke there are almost continuous roadworks and two contraflows. A journey last Sunday, to east Manchester, took an hour longer than usual.

Give yourself a little extra time, and have a good trip.

You’re right Fish.

Add to that the paucity of parking near the ground and folk really do need to give themselves time.

The handy Away fans guide provided by Salford is real demonstration of how the locale was more suited to a small non league side which got 150 every week than a league side who could get twenty or thirty times that amount with potentially nearly 1500 travelling fans.

For those who haven’t seen it the guide basically says; If you’re driving - hmm tricky parking you might want to park in Swinton and get a bus. If you’re catching the train - hmm there’s no train station - go to Manchester and get a taxi or a bus.

Thanks @Mazza01 think I will do that now I’ve sorted the shoes out :joy: they feel like fucking carpet slippers now compared to last night :laughing:

:joy::joy::joy::joy: that’s the one mate

Same here. Looking at the ground guides trying to park any closer seems like too much hassle.

I cannot find a Park & Ride anywhere near the ground? Is that the right Postcode cus there is nowt on tinternet!
Parking around the Moor Lane area IS a nightmare, would be only too pleased to find a Park & Ride! Got a parking ticket at Oldham so not too happy to park near anywhere ā€˜domestic’ again!
