Sam Perry - new contract

If it was 2/3 years he’d say so with a massive smile

Liam should ask again next week to see if he’s remembered

No way has he forgot. You wouldn’t forget that. Bet it’s unfavourable to us

I don’t believe for one minute a manager would forget the length of a much talked about, player’s contract. If he isn’t allowed to say, or doesn’t want to then just tell the truth as it makes him look a bit silly saying he forgot.

I don’t really pay much attention to what was said during interviews. Usually it has little meaning and decisions are already in motion. I know, it’s a guessing game, but I hope some clauses has been injected to this contract. 1+1 contract looks better than one year deal for example.

Yep. If you’re gonna lie, be convincing.

Regardless of the contract offered by the club, what actually gets signed is whatever the player / / agent / advisor wants. They have all of the bargaining power and the club is pretty helpless.

If teams can sign seasoned professionals for long term deals the club can wrangle a half decent term for Sam Perry

In his acceptance interview Perry said quite clearly he would be giving his best for the rest of this season and next. To me that implies he is expecting to leave at the end of 21/22.

Until burton offer £50 in January

Fair play to him shows ambition for a young player

I picked up on that point too.

Perhaps he meant he is going to try his hardest the test of this season and carry it for the new season which will be a new start for the club after the reset and thats all he is focussing on at the moment.

He seems a level headed loyal player who is grateful for the chance to step up rather than some big headed kid who thinks Real Madrid will be poaching him in 18 months time

Think his feet are more firmly on the ground than that

Perhaps, yes.

Perry’s contract is 2 years with an extra year in the clubs favour.

Why wouldn’t you announce that, they took loads of stick over it :man_facepalming:

Previous Manager didn’t like contract details publicised…

But this was under Dutton, who announced Osedebe’s but not Perry?

Either way, I hope the club has learned from that, shouldn’t really be the managers policy. Lead to some quite bizarre rants (Guthrie) fan scepticism (Perry) and just generally annoying.

Definitely sounds like it was a pain in the arse for the club and they’ll be glad to announce all details from now on.

I take back every bad word I said. It’s absolute madness they wasn’t screaming that from the rooftops.
