Scunthorpe United (A) Boxing Day, 3pm

A unbeaten run going. Now scoring more than 1 goal in matches. The play-offs are a realistic aim now. UTS.

Great Great Result , come April this team is going to be close , the negativity has to stop at some point

Just like Exeter and Vale a massive away result, there is so little difference in this league between the play offs and lower mid table its nuts - three or four points will be the difference come April between 6th and 7th and 12th and 13th

Being a WFC Boo Boy should be a badge of Honor nowadays there is a list which anyone would be proud to be a member off - this should be pointed out to Gaffney and co

Ricketts
Butler
Fryatt
Deeney
Grigg
Swayers

pretty good list IMO - in a couple of years time there be a thread started called when is Gaffers coming back

[by the way if its ok in some peoples opinions to call out players why is it not ok to call out supporters]

For overseas fans

I thought it was a straightforward question. Which bit didn’t you understand?

More creativity needed in home games.

At least now the experiment with 3-5-2 is hopefully over, 4-3-3 looks a much better fit. I’d be starting Guthrie and Bates in the next two (fitness permitting) as in home games you need players who can get the ball quickly to the forwards and they are capable of it.

Fantastic post that mate and I echo every word.

Good win away from home. People need to calm down asking for more positivity, I’d say on the whole most people are positive and want DC to succeed, but it doesn’t get over the fact (in my opinion) that our previous away game wasn’t acceptable.

Our form recently is very promising and as everyone says its the home form which now needs to be improved.

Many thanks for the video.

Happy New Year.

But of a push calling Wales " overseas" ,isn’t it ,STK?

When I used to go up regularly, booing, shouting comments at your own and opposition players, cheering for goals and good play was all part of the afternoon/evening.

There were some really funny moments (especially at fellows park) where Walsall fans shouted insults at players of both teams, people used/use matchdays to let of steam.

The only difference with the old days and now, is that in those days it was all forgotten at the final whistle (or last orders in the pub), whereas these days it goes on all week, week after week,on social media.

If Gafney hadn’t been booed in the first place (after all he probably knew he was having a mare) then he wouldn’t have responded with a shoosh, and we wouldn’t be having this conversation at all.

Sid I remember when we were giving Trevor Christie dogs abuse every game he played for us in the end , even when we had a penalty kicking in the street end and he lined up to take it our own supporters were shouting …miss miss miss .

He put it in the back of the net and then came angrily towards the street enders raising his fists shouting goal and had to be pulled away by other players before someone jumped on him :grinning:

He actually moved to Mansfield I think it was and when they played us at Fellows Park we were all singing …thank you very much for buying Christie thank you very much thank you very very very much …:grinning:

Must say also , watching the last two away games with the home ends at both Exeter and Scunthorpe being all standing how much better it looked rather than seated

I don’t agree we were ■■■■ poor, results were but some of the hyperbole being spouted was pathetic like we were never going to win a game again. Since then our form has been excellent, and DC and the players deserve as much credit as they were getting criticism then.

When/why was Fryatt a target? I can’t remember that at all. I would have seen all but a tiny number of the games he played for us but can’t think what the problem might have been.
Anyone able to explain what I missed, or have forgotten?

Merson always seemed desperate to sell Fryatt and when he did we ended up with nothing

Worse than that - we ended up with Andrew Barrowman.
