All I will say is I am glad I wasn’t there tonight and as I have said before, it is a disgrace how many penalties we miss. Do they ever practise taking them?
That was shocking ,The frustrating thing is we are lacking in depth, like I said before we are only 2 injuries off an average league 4 team , few players short of a push for promotion cause you will always have player’s injured, we are not a million miles away but not close enough
Bitter pill to swallow, so frustrating but suppose that’s the Joy’s of being a walsall fan, the only reason for our defeat tonight our lack of depth of quality in the squad our budget being the issue. With rory being on crutches and a cast could well be a long and painful January.
Could have won, or at least drawn, if Gordon had put away his penalty. But , overall, not awful ,just poor. Even when we were on top, there didn’t seem to be any clear idea of how to break them down.
That is his 2nd miss of the season so he has a 50% conversion rate.
We have missed 4 penalties this season with Adebayo and Lavery missing the others. Says something about your strike force when that is the case!
We don’t score enough and we concede every game, that is why we have a negative goals tally which won’t see you promoted (although Morecambe are 5th with -3 but that won’t last).
Poor decision to keep an injured goalie on cost us the goal.Poor decision from Josh not to lash the penalty cost us a goal. As others have said we are a mid table team and that is where we will finish in my view.
That was a poor game. I know, just like two mid table League Two teams play. Tbh I can accept that, as long as the final result will be positive. But not killing such games will cost us. And finishing the year that way is simply painful.
Gift the opposition goals, miss penalties, and then bring subs on that might as well be wearing the opposition kit. As Nicholls said in commentary…“it is what it is”. This is an awful league this year, our best 11 playing well can beat anyone, but that’s not a recipe for consistency. If we could defend properly I don’t think we’d actually have to improve much to be top 3, but we just can’t, its as simple as that. What I don’t understand is why we can’t defend properly. We’ve got physical prescence, experience, and a really good “bodies on the line” mentality. Its seems to be more about stupid individual errors and that includes giving away ridiculous set pieces.
What a frustrating team we follow!
We have to put these bottom six sides away, just no excuses to lose today.
All over them in the second half, got the penalty and Gordon missed it which kind of took the wind out of our sales. Nothing fell for us and I thought Scunthorpe defended well, they always seemed to have an extra one or two in their box.
Why did DC take so long to replace Rose? He was clearly injured and I thought he should have saved their second goal.
One step forward and two back.
Really, really missing Holden!!
