Second Boycott letter

A season that extends beyond February.

Im not a medical expert but in 5 minutes have discovered than “many” of these injuries can be prevented with exercises

If I was paying their wages surely it would prudent to ensure that a satisfactory regime exists to avoid the majority of such injuries

I see that and I feel it too. The difference between us, I guess, is that I take a realist approach and don’t expect instant success. It would have been nice but realistically do you think it would happen so quickly? Such things need to be built.

And yes, you could argue that we are not making the right appointments. I had high hopes after the start of the last season as did we all. And it was bitterly disappointing what happened. It may have been a different story had we made the play-offs - which did at one point look on the cards.

And I must admit that I am slightly surprised that Matt Sadler got the job. It is a risk - but sometimes risks can pay off.

I’m not being positive for the hell of it when I say that but we don’t really know what went on, who applied or whatever. He may actually have been the best choice - and may prove to be so.

I just think some people wouldn’t be happy regardless.

We’re not Manchester CIty.

Again - I get that. And the mistake was probably not sacking Flynn earlier. That may or may not have helped the situation - who knows?

This is tongue in cheek surely?

We’re about to embark on our 5th season in L2. I’m not expecting overnight success. I just want better than what I have watched over the past 3 years.

No, it’s not. I despise League Two - the football is crap and it’s full of cloggers and difficult to get out of.

I can’t wait until we escape this dire place.

But I think things are different now and the way I see it, things have changed in the last year or so. That’s what I am talking about.

Some just have absolutely no ambition whatsoever. As long as there is a club identifying as Walsall playing football that’s enough. Which is fine. But some of us just want a bit more. We expect a certain level of professionalism and care. We need something tangible to buy into.

If some of the waffle and PR this club has come out with over the last few years was released, say, by your local supermarket - you would not go back there.

Go and support x, y, z then!! We’re not Manchester City!!! The final go-to for a supporter with no further defence other than to say, I will put up with absolutely anything from this organisation

And time will tell if it is another false dawn.

I’m just not putting my eggs into one basket with this club anymore. Too many empty promises and false dawns. I as much as anyone hope BB is true to his word and he and Trivela can deliver a successful team to the town and fans, but I won’t apologise for airing on the side of caution and being a little cynical.

I’d be pleased with that tbh, bridging half of the gap or more between our last 3 points totals and top 3/top 7. It does however then need to be sustainable progress, if it’s done on a load of thirty something journeymen on 12/24 month contracts, or loans who we cannot realistically re-sign, it doesn’t leave a massive amount of scope for further improvement in year 2 of the project.

Not the reason for me. They waited until we were mathematically certain to avoid relegation. They knew no matter how bad it was Flynn was likely to scrape us the last few points needed. In the end other teams did it for him. He had some credit in the bank from the cup run but the way the team collapsed around him and stopped playing for him just left them with no choice. For me Flynn wanted to stay.

This is my point.

With the same members of the board, still doing what would seem to be the day-to-day running of the club, whilst Trivela are the other side of the Atlantic, I will be pessimistic due to the past. Can leopards change their spots, of course, but I need tangible evidence to change my opinion at this point in time.

For what it is worth, I don’t see the appointment of Sadler as negative. It is just everything else that is going on which makes me doubtful.

Ridiculous statement. They sacked him at the right time, after it was obvious the team had decided to Jack the season in. That’s his job to make sure they don’t, but people have short memories when it comes to Flynn.

It’s easy to say that in hindsight, we’d have all sacked Flynn at the start of Feb in hindsight, but he deserved the chance to see through what he’d achieved to that point.

Big difference for me is this is the first full season with new owners who’ve spent a year looking at what they’ve bought. It’s free from the hindrance of any Covid complication, and, most importantly, Bonser is nothing to do with us any more at all.

This is the time for change. I’m positive it’ll happen. While our investors get the blue chip return of a loan repayment I’m sure they’ll be looking to capitalise the club asset for a better return. Can’t be any worse than looking to capitalise the rent to get a better pension. We’ve had nearly thirty years of that shite, and the damage won’t be undone in an instant.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: ffs

Yes mate MANY of these injuries ARE prevented. The success rate is judged by how many players DONT suffer these injuries.

I’ll leave you to do the math on the 130 THOUSAND pro footballers worldwide.

ACLs happen to players very infrequently, but they can happen to anyone at any level DESPITE the very best medical care.

Maybe Liverpool need to reassess their S&C dept following VVD’s ACL….

Ajax with Van Nistelrooy?

Man U and Roy Keane? I mean Man Us must be really careless with Zlatan doing the same!!

Newcastle with Michael Owen….

Shall I go on?

It’s complete nonsensical clueless rubbish to suggest blame can be attributed to medical staff at a pro football club for a freak injury in elite sport. Not to mention a complete lack of appreciation of the level of physical strain on a pro footballers body that can result in this.

Staggering. Completely staggering.

I can’t believe people are still trotting out the old “what more do you want?!” After the last 4 years :joy::joy::joy:

That’s why I used the word “probably”.

Christ when will people get over this. That’s been the case for 4 years. People were saying this when Pomlett unveiled his 4 year plan. “Just wait, it won’t be instant, but this club will be better off after that period”

This is the 4th year. We are still completely shite and the moves the club are making have little impact on my optimism for next year either.

But it “probably” wasn’t. I don’t think any manager could have got that team to buy in after going out the cup and losing Bennett and Johnson. Flynn failed unfortunately, but like I say, not sure sacking the manager and putting, say, Matt Sadler in charge should have made any difference to that considering what I witnessed from his three games in charge.

Bless. Nice try, but you’re repeating questions that have already been answered. I’m not repeating myself because you can’t get over yourself.
