Shirt for next season

Any manufacturer that means that parasite Mole doesn’t get a jolly out of it

1920-49 our home kit was claret and blue according to historical kits website. Not sure any of us on here can vouch for this based on first hand experience. :grinning:

Didn’t we have a claret and blue / barcelona-esque 3rd kit in the late 90s as well? Seem to recall it was quite nice but it didn’t last long.

Think green socks are a total winner, as they make us unique, but as others have said, keep green to a minimum elsewhere.

Home: Red shirts, white shorts, green socks,
Away: White shirts, white or red shorts, green socks.
Third: anything you fancy

Anyone reading this from the club, take note, red tops, white shorts and green socks next season.

Just on the toes

Prefer to see return of black rather than green again, at least we have had some success with that! Even all white again but that green needs to go.

Not for me. Green is a curse.

Just looked and we’ve still gotta have Errea til 2023 :upside_down_face:

Just out of interest, what brand would be your choice?
For me, it would be Umbro/Luke … or Avec, they’ve done some nice Bradford gear recently

Deffo Luke lets get into the 21 st century, if the club want to make some serious revenue from shirt sales then they need to start thinking bigger

The green should have just been done as a one off trip down memory Lane for a group of fans who reminisce about a relatively short spell in our history that means something to them.

Going forward green is no more Walsall than claret and blue or black, less if anything. As a fan who got into it in the 90s, green just feels like throwing a colour in for the sake of it.

As a fan who got into it in the 90s, green feels like us creating a unique identity that has some historical links. Much, much preferred to the black of the 90s for me. As others say though it has to be subtle and majority red/white, there’s too much green this year.

As long as its predominantly red I’m not bothered

Anyone know why green was introduced in early 80’s in first place? Assumed black was introduced in 90’s due to our link up with Banks. Not a fan of either, i would rather stick to red and white

It was actually the late 70s, when we went from white shirt/red shorts to red shirt/white shorts and we decided on green socks, with some green piping on the shorts.
I don’t know why but maybe it was to emulate Hungary of the 50s. I can’t remember. I liked the green socks, but hated the blue shorts we wore a few years later.
I’ve disliked most of the strips we’ve worn in the last few decades, the 94-95 promotion kit was particularly bad, and the tablecloth shirt, and anything with a lot of black, and shirts that are too fussy.
Last strip I liked was probably mid 80s, a more or less plain red shirt, more or less plain white shorts, and white socks.
For me simple and plain is best, but as I am not going to buy a replica kit I don’t suppose my views are important.
My favourite is the old white shirt/red shorts combo from the early to late 70s.

No, the Sign Specialist kits all had black too prior to Banks’s sponsoring us.

I associate the black with the Bonser years. I wonder if it was his idea?

I always thought the black was added off the back of the success of manure in the early 90’s.

Could be the reason as the first 2 Sign Specialists kits had black socks like Manure.

Yes I was told JB liked the black on the kit.
The green was Dave Mackay’s idea in 1977.

Yeah, JB liked us in the black and not in the red.
