Silkeborg

If Drogheda were to play Silkeborg in the Europe Conference League, what are the implications?

I don’t know why people are bothered about it being to our advantage or against our advantage. Trivela are doing it for their investors advantage. Each club they own are independent of each other, and have to sink or swim by their own efforts. It’s no different from any group of companies, if any company in a group is a drain on the resources of the group they get disguarded.

Yes, it’s a real puzzle why Walsall FC fans would care about whether something was good or bad for Walsall FC?

Their Investors, and while I’m not prepared to declare either way yet, I don’t give a shit what their own business goals are. I definitely care whether it’s good for Walsall or not, you know, with them being our owners and all.

Imagine if people had said “it’s irrelevant whether the rental agreement is bad for Walsall FC, Bonser is doing it for his own advantage. Walsall just have to pull their weight or get cut loose”.

Not to sure on how it works, others may have more knowledge on it than me, but it must be possible for players from there to transfer to us and vice versa. See for example Alassana jatta who signed for Notts county from Viborg and is currently joint 3rd top goal scorer alongside our own Nathan Lowe.

Wonder if they’ll snap up Dumbarton?

Well that’s a lot of crap to write for someone who hasn’t got an opinion…:joy:

Hoped they’d go for a Scottish club, but can’t see that happening now.

They seem to be on a timescale of one club a year, so I guess we’ll find out this time next year, unless they decide to leave it at 4 for a while.

What are you talking about? My opinion is, it’s too early to say for sure whether this will be a good or a bad thing. That’s got f*** all to do with saying people shouldn’t care if it’s a good or a bad thing. That’s the bit of your post I’m demonstrating is clearly absolute nonsense.

Beautiful stadium

Well let’s put it this way, if we wasn’t close to the top of the league I’m sure certain people would have a different take.

Like you I have no clue if this is good or bad for our future.

And my opinion is that Trivela are doing it to build their portfolio and benefit their investors. Maybe in a roundabout way it may benefit Walsall, which would be great. Why is it people think that Walsall have first dibs on all the other teams players in the Trivela group? It may turn out that they nick all our best players.

Well yeah. That’s not an opinion, that’s clearly fact.

Still complete nonsense that Walsall Fans shouldn’t care whether that’s good for Walsall FC or not.

My point exactly Sid.

They say mutually beneficial

But there always will be a pecking order

@Andy_Petterson is right when he says we haven’t been wronged yet.

But who is there to be the “critical friend” on behalf of Walsall fans. The trust seems to have vanished. ISSA are visible but seem busy doing (great) work at the Railway. There is no way to question them. The SLO isn’t really an SLO. And @RobHarv3y doesn’t get invited for Cups of tea any more.

And saying well they aren’t Bonser or Pomlett is no argument for them being good or bad !!

One thing we’ve learned since Trivela purchased us, they know what they’re doing.
They have made some shrewd acquisitions so far, I would bet this latest one will not be the last.
How this will benefit WFC is yet unknown. I think there will be more clarification when BB and BS discuss it in the pending video.

We could be in a bit of a weird position next season… we say to our good young players… listen lads, if you do well you can go to Silkeborg and play in Europe or do average and go to Drogs and play in Europe. Stay here and you could be in L1.

Just don’t expect Walsall to be beniffisuries of every deal that Trivela make, why should we be?

Good point. I’d be interested to know how they managed to get work visa, particularly as he wasn’t an international footballer at that time,
