Sky Sports agrees new five-year EFL deal (Apr 2024)

You must be unique Belph…:+1::joy:

I’ve been called worse Sid
I think I’m more of a contrarian that goes against the grain tbh. Tends to work for me but I’m a live and let live sort of bloke

No ,he’s not. Years ago ,I had this argument with a Shrewsbury fan, who was more a Man Utd fan. He said I was unusual for not supporting a Premiership club as well. He tried to get me to adopt one. He failed.

As a kid my 2nd team was Man Utd,my 2 brothers were Tottenham and Liverpool, but we were, and are, first and foremost Walsall through and through

Are Luton his first or second team?

It’s a good point, and I’d be livid, but would people have been as livid if Man Utd had scored it rather than Coventry? Or would they have accepted that as much as we don’t like VAR that it was the right decision?

I think it’s the fact it’s robbed a good footballing story, but it was off, no matter how much by. I hate it too, but it wasn’t as if it was the wrong decision.

Whatever you think of VAR generally, I don’t see how they can justify using in the FA Cup ,when it’s not used for all matches, and there’s a potential advantage to having experience of it, which again, not all clubs have.

I get that, and I agree, but this wouldn’t be a discussion if Man Utd had the goal disallowed and Coventry went onto win it instead.

No chance. Couldn’t give a flying eff for any Prem team. Closest I get is supporting whoever Wolves am playing

I have no 2nd team and if I did it wouldn’t be a prem team. I have no interest in it whatsoever. I would say it’s a pointless competition, but it’s not really a competition is it, just a prelim round for europe and a money making and money draining machine.

It contains nothing of the things that makes football entertaining or attractive for me.

Nope, just about every football fan does not have a favourite prem team. I certainly have none and know of no other fan who does. I couldn’t give a **** about them.

I don’t care about English clubs when they play in Europe either, I’m happy to see them all lose, especially ManUre and Liverpool.

Well that’s where we differ, every Walsall fan I know has a premier league side that they like, and one has a championship team as their 2nd team.

There certainly is for championship games. Most have same operation as lower end prem games that aren’t selected for TV.

I’d assume the majority of games will still kick off at Sat 3pm next season so wouldn’t worry about too much disruption until back in league 1.

I think as a football fan you always gravitate towards certain teams at certain times. Early 90s I thought Inter Milan and then Ajax were a great watch. Spurs under Ossie. Chelsea and Middlesbrough with this foreign players early doors. At the moment I’ll always try watch City more because of Foden, some player he is

Always support the English sides in Europe even Liverpool it’s us versus them.

Only other team I’ll pick over Walsall is England. Country over club.

The only other team I follow is England. End of.

I imagine many of us have a non-league club as a 2nd team. When I was young I’d go to Blakenall or Walsall Sportsco at the Red Lion Ground, sadly neither exist now. I enjoy watching my local side Wellingborough Town now.

I’d have thought with your name, you’d have been watching a certain Bloxwich team.

I had a couple of years where I liked watching Willenhall which happly co-ensided with them getting to Wembly the first year I went to their games, long before Walsall did I may add😂 They even had Willie Carr playing for them the following year.
