So many injuries

Doesn’t really effect the team much tbh

FGR had a keeper playing today who is on a week to week emergency contract due to injuries in their squad.

Earlier this month their manager counted they had 12 senior players injured in their squad.

I don’t think we can complain about injuries for this one.

Does anyone know how serious Evans’ injury is?

Think Sadler said no more than a couple of weeks so maybe back for Tranmere.

Possibly came back too soon? A big miss for Sadler as I think he likes Tierney in the advanced role.

Hopenhe doesn’t come straight back in, Smith deserves a chance, not done much wrong in the last 3 1/2 games.

If i was evans id be sweating on my place for the number 1 shirt , before he got injured evans was very 50-50 depending on what mood he was in on the day. I do think though its vastly helped Smith with having both the Priest and DD in front of him which evans hasnt had for a large part of the season but in football thats the way the cookie crumbles and you dont change a winning team

McEntee out for at least two weeks

Thats bad news for us.

It certainly is, especially given that yesterday, at last, he was back in his proper position.

I think having him, Daniels, Farquerharson, Draper and Matt makes us very competitive from well delivered set pieces as well as defending them. Matt’s work defensively was excellent yesterday and he was also huge against the big bombs Alftreton dropped into our box a couple of weeks ago.

Williams doesn’t quite have the same presence as any of those five and if he plays right side of the three it leaves us exposed down our right side as it is effectively him and Knowles who need to shut down attacks down that side. And if Wrexham play as they did at their place we know that they love right to left (as they kick) diagonal to a far post giant. It was Williams and Foulkes who were horribly exposed in that game.

Express & Star reporting

“Oisin is quite a long one. We’re probably talking three months. It’s touch and go whether he’ll make anything before the end of the season,” Sadler confirmed.

That’s a huge loss :pensive:

A CB signing is really needed now…a left footed one if possible.

Massive miss if it is as bad as feared. Wish him a speedy recovery. As much as Dave is improving he has a mistake or two in him every game. We do have the opportunity to look in January to reinforce. Silver lining is the midfield spots can now all be filled with “actual midfield players”

I agree. Having players out on short term (2-3 weeks) injuries is part of football, but we’ve had so many footballers out for months, not weeks. One has to question the competence of the medical/phsysio departments we currently have on board. There seems to be a lot of chopping and changing around in the last few months. Lets hope the club and Tivela can get this sorted.

We have had way too many soft tissue muscle strain type injuries. Can’t do much about broken legs and ACLs but Whitney always prided himself on limiting the strains and sprains by tbe work he did with the players pre season.
We need to look at improving that for next season.
Also think that Sadlers reluctance to use the bench at times has overloaded some of the players.

I truly believe our biggest singing next year would be a class physio and conditioning coach. Pay someone above our level
This is rediculous now and costing us season after season

By and large, they are not muscular injuries so I am not sure that makes much difference. A lot of other clubs seem to have long injury lists.

The Milk Cup squad had about 16 players in it - only 1 sub per game. We’d be struggling to put out a 5-a-side team if we had one that size now.
