I’ve been away for a couple of weeks and haven’t bothered keeping in touch with the busy summer of comings and goings at the club. And what do I find upon my return? Nothing, nada, zilch…
Now, I’ve been following Walsall for nearly 60 years so my expectations are suitably tempered but - not even an assistant manager?? No comms, not even “holding” comms?
My expectations for the coming season weren’t particularly high, if this continues they will be non existent.
I drove past the stadium yesterday and they appear to have painted the red shutters on the away end in high gloss red paint… sign of things to come … exciting times

Sorry to bring bad tidings, but stories going around on another club site that Graham Alexander turned down the manager’s job and Troy Deeney when interviewed was told that there is NO budget to sign players!!
Club can only afford players on loan.
Now that’s admittedly not confirmed, but it would explain why nothing’s being reported.
If true, we should be very concerned.

I don’t believe this - BB has talked about slow incremental improvement. Slashing the budget doesn’t add up with what we’ve been told. Actions speak louder than words though - lets see who we bring in. The clock is ticking…

If this is true, then we are well and truly fecked! What happened to the cup run and Adebayo (“It’s massive” quote: Mr L. Pomlett) money?! We off-loaded over £600k from our wage bill from around 7 contracted players and 6 loans. Surely, we have to sign at least 7-8 players to even make a match day squad. This is the problem with a vacuum - something will fill it! This is NOT incremental progress! I’m beginning to wonder what the point of Trivela is! How come Wrexham get the good Yanks and we get the stiffs?!! And they’ve even got Blake Lively to look at - we’ve got Pomletto!!
