Birthday greetings to Super Fan Jack Huskisson who is 100 today! He was taken by surprise when Charlie Lakin and Harry Williams paid him a visit along with Tom from the Coms team yesterday. He first started watching Saddlers in 1933 just after the Arsenal game and attended games well into his 90’s, the last one being two years ago. The club have kindly given him and a family member hospitality for Saturday’s home game v. Tranmere and he is hoping to make it despite a bad cough. Well done to the club for acknowledging such a milestone and making Jack’s birthday. . Picture credit: Walsall FC.
Brilliant - Happy Birthday Jack
Hopefully 3 points for you on Saturday
On this theme - it’s great to see this level of player/fan engagement again - seemed to reduce hugely since the Sir Ray and Chris Nicholl eras…
My wife worked at Walsall day hospice and Sir Ray made a point of his players regularly visiting patients (not just at Christmastime as do many clubs…)
Great to hear. Well done to Jack and the Club.
I’m 100 soon ( well, in about 18 years) so I’ll expect the same treatment
You’ll deserve it mate - 82 not out currently is going well…
Great bloke is Jack lived by him in cobden st as a kid my dad knew him love how he has scrap books full of newspaper clippings from every season from many years was amazing was great looking at them it was Jack that got me in to doing the same Happy 100th Jack
Congratulations to him. A great milestone. Surprised there is no mention of @Welsh_Saddler, who apparently drove him to his first game
I was brought up in Cobden Street until we moved when I was 11. No 68, opposite the pickle factory.
In a horse and carriage apparently .
My dad would have been 100 in April this year and lived not too far away in Thorpe Road, Caldmore. I wonder if they knew each other, maybe went to the same school?
Shanks’s pony
Cant remember the number was on the side which has been knocked down and is now the school field
That would be well towards the Milton Street end whereas I lived near to King Street , in the really old terraces that were compulsorily purchased and demolished in the early 70’s.
Happy birthday Jack!
Jack lived at No 20 Cobden Street.
Yow’m a cheeky young whippersnapper…
And it wasn’t me anyway, it was @Pedagogue !!
Happy birthday Jack. I hope you have a great time on Saturday.
Happy Birthday Jack. Nice to see the lads paid you a visit.
Great to see.
Will there be a minute’s applause at the 100th minute…?
That sounds a bit ominous…
Pony and trap?
