But right here, right now… would you play DJ over DJT?:grin:

Only joshing @CompletelySaddled - but you see the point.

DJ is a natural goalscorer. I don’t care what he does - he scores goals and he should be playing.

Yeah he finished it well….just the type of chance from an error he’d get against first team players….Shrews have made 8 changes btw….but yes DJ finished it well.

Shame he didn’t find Hutch to score a tap in that would’ve made it 2-0 and game over though eh?

Instead he was a bit greedy (which I kind of understand) and shot himself.

Thats the difference sometimes….2-0 and playing well and it’s all over…now we’re up against it and losing.

I do understand he desperately wants to give it a f-you but good pros make good decisions for the team at the right time.

Terrible game.

Give us something to unite behind

The signing of Danny Johnson created a real buzz. It sold season tickets. it’s why they re-opened the early bird.

Having Mat Sadler as Manager and the piss poor recruitment by Trivella take the wind out of everyones sails.

We don’t have wingers or proper wing backs that’s the main issue for me with the recruitment this season.

The shots to shots on target ratio tells a story, I think Gordon when he’s on form is a decent wingback.

Couldn’t stomach listening to MS bullshit last night but just put myself thru it … “the next thing has to be the right thing” … well Mr Boycott the next thing has to be the right thing! GET RID of Sadler and put this failed PE teacher out of his misery and most importantly listen to swell of opinion from most level headed fans that this muppet just does not have what it takes

Might get pelters for this, but in the last few games I have seen a glimpse of an identity being developed. We have aimed to dominate more of the ball, play on the deck & be aggressive when attacking.

The current problem is that we (1) have injuries to several key players, (2) low quality / young squad fillers, (3) defend poorly at key moments (due to point 2), (4) inconsistent keeper(s).

As I see it, coaching has not been the major problem but it’s been our poor recruitment strategy (how many times). We can turn around quickly, but it relies on key players returning from injury and an aggressive January transfer window strategy.

Of course, MS needs to get results but if he can get us to about mid-table by January, then it’s over to Trivela. IMO this is their most important transfer window as it’ll show if their priority is the football or just commercials.

I do think that international call-ups has done Sadler a huge favour in my honest opinion. If we had gone to Doncaster on Saturday and lost, can you imagine the pressure he and the players would be under for our game against FGR at home? You just know that Deeney will be up for that game anyway, and will be bound to score, as probably will Stevens.

Concede first against FGR and i hate to say it but it will be a very toxic atmosphere. It was bad enough with some of the abuse that the players got off some in the crowd following the Harrogate game. If this continues we are almost back to the same situation we saw at the end of Keates’s reign. A toxic atmosphere where the players have lost that connection with the fans. This could all go downhill so very quickly if results don’t change. I certainly dont want to go back to a period in our history like that again. Trivela need to be professional and atl east come out and say something about what their intentions are to get us out of this malaise. Surely they cannot be happy with our current position and the connection with the fanbase? That’s assuming that thet actually care, of course :thinking:

I don’t think it has, because our league position cannot really improve over the weekend, therefore we will be in a “relegation scrap” position against a team below us.
I can`t see how not playing this week will change the demographic of the FGR game.
Completely agree on Trivela, someone I think needs to come out of the shadows. All well and good investing in another club, they need to prove they are capable of running this one, or I would suggest future purchases will be less straight forward.

Think we are looking at this all wrong, how many games have we had 20+ shots, but hardly any on target. It’s all Byfield’s fault. Byfield Out!!

To be honest mate I thought appointing Byfield was as big a mistake as appointing Sadler, double whammy. Sadler with no experience of management and Byfield just chugging along wherever he has been. But I will always appreciate Byfields goal at the millennium stadium .

Agree matey. Next 3 games crucial though. Especially the Alfreton one.

Agreed.

We were lucky that three players got selected, otherwise we would have had two international absentees and the Doncaster game would have gone ahead.

I would not be optimistic about getting anything other than a heavy defeat without Daniels and Gordon in our defence given the players we have available at present.

We have been expecting and has been a stated abition of the various Chairmen for at least the last 5 seasons and they are just hollow words with zero substance or genuine intention and just a marketing ploy for early bird and season ticket subscription sales

Im gonna contact Pete Townsend to do a remake only this time the title will be "we have been fooled again "

Is he going to record a version of Baba Joe Riley?

Thought for the day.

Seven points and seven goals above relegation spots

Seven points and six goals from the play offs

Despite everything the glass is still half full
